AIDA DEPTH WC 2009 in the Bahamas.

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
Motoko Ishiwata just started her dive, and opened so the competition for real!

Yeah , lets get it on :martial. We are all online glued to our screens........ (the sad people we are rofl )

Heidi Heidenreich is now underwater. Attempting a 35 meter constant no fins dive. Expected dive time 1:30 min...

If only someone could reply with a color code....

Aarhus was far better in that departament: I was told that Pim was sending the results on-line almost instantly. It is not such a huge project these days: just one person is enough and it really makes a difference.
Edit: So results are coming nevertheless! Great!
Miha

it's a lot more difficult than you think - no reception in the blue hole, no text messaging...
I can say that Motoko made her dive, and Heidi suffered a black out. Will try and keep you informed!

Hey, thanks, Will! Sorry for the nagging: we are all just so eager for any info.... :)

Probably a satelite phone with a data uplink and connected laptop could do the trick in the hole. But then a lot of love towards the sponsors is needed since these babys are expensive, although not as bad as they used to be. Getting into consumer range.

Yes, thanks for the info Will, and sorry for the complaints, but I hope you understand it is frustrating not to be there, or watch it in direct

Olga Suryakova hit her depth of 40m.
Cristina Kummel turned early at 38m, and was disqualified for surface protocol.

Any news about Brigitte? I am especially curious about her, and wishing good luck! She is already back on the surface normally now.

Junko Kitahama was diving to better her own Japanese national record in CNF, as well as the Asian continental record.
She did it this morning, with a great dive to 48m.
Carla Sue Hanson was attempting the same depth, but turned at 37m.

Everyone send Will Reputation Points for the reporting, while he needs to organize the competition and prepare himself in the same time!!! (click the balance icon in the upper right corner of his post)

i'm quite puzzled as to how he is doing it. to be on the web he must be in Hamilton's, 10 min (at a fast rate) drive away... he must be receiving phone updates.. either way, well done Will!

Will, thanks a lot for info. Olga and Brigitte congratulations!!! well done!!! :)

waiting for Natalia :)
