AlphaDeep wetsuits - stay away

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
Salute Ravelo!

In keeping with my policy of pounding the nail past flush I will add my voice.

The proper thing to do here would have been to resolve this matter quickly with your customer - before it came to the the point that he felt he must go public!

As a man of business - it is very useful to learn this. Always it is helpful to be humble and know when to say you are wrong.

All of us would welcome another wetstuit maker from Italy!

Please fix this problem and say you are sorry! Then you will be happy and we will be happy!!

And not to stir things up a little, but im sure there is copyright infringement going on with the logo...the 3 green lines dont look too dissimilar to the monster energy logo.

If I remember correctly they started out as Orcasub-wetsuits.com. Some of their products look suspiciously familiar to that of Orcas 2010 wetsuits. So they shouldn´t perhaps be so eager to start suing people...

This is too funny! Any idea how hard and expensive it is to sue someone in your own country let alone another country??? And I'm talking about suing over a REAL issue.

AlphaDeep, only make threats if you are willing AND ABLE to go through with them otherwise you're just going to look like an idiot and do more damage to your business.

Any news on this?
Has anyone else had legal proceedings started against them for hurting a company's feelings?

It all seems a bit too farcical to be real and this over-the-top litigiousness does sound a lot like a scam. The original name & the suits are clearly ripping off Orca - has anybody actually bought a suit from them?

how can you possibly say the good name of your company is being defamed?:head
you had a clear opportunity to get some good press by re-funding the customer or ensuring his product was delivered on time.
instead you start threatening member of an international forum and basically steal his money
great sales pitch shite company shite sales and customer care policy

you have not got a leg to stand on
would you like this story to appear in more diving and spearing threads and even magazines ravelo?? carry on watch this space:martial

I find funny how the Medfish administrator protects the manufacturer. He tells he would not accept nasty comments. That's fair and comprehensible. But then even though no nasty comments pop up at all, just an evidence in form of a photo of the suit shows up, he deletes it immediately. Did he think the member photoshoped the photo to dammage the company or what?

I find also very strange that the admin practically admits spying on his members by reading their private messages. Well, he does not tell it directly, but from his comments it looks like he does search in PM's of members for information. Very strange.

Does anyone of you know the forum and its administrators? Does "Memo" often behave in this way, or did this thread give a false impression of him?

Wow, this is awesome. Ravelo you erronious twat, if you COUKLD sue over this then Jeremy Clarkson would be bankrupt due to legal proceedings, as would every food critic, automotive journalist, in fact ANYBODY who ever decided to speak up about crap service.

So, legal action eh?! Through a bonafide legal team I guess? Why, honestly, don't you go see a proctologist instead of a laywer? He can assist you in finding your head.
Sorry I just love how your supposed legal team hasn't instructed you to NOT get into a petty flame war online.

I've an even better idea, why doesn't DB contact the Polizia because I am certain they'd love to hear about fraudulent claims about them.

PS. If you want my address and bank details so you can sue ME, feel free, I'd love somebody to inherit my debt!

Hi Trux, i' memo. Admin of medfish. I know it is easy to talk that bad about people but please show some respect. Medfish forum software does not let anyone to read other's pm. It does not matter you are an admin or whatever. The only way is to change password and directly hack an account.

Besides, I'm not that type of a guy.

Regarding the alpha suits. We had this kind of arguments in the forum and i only pushed two parties away from public arguments and tried to convince them to solve the matter in a civilized manner. Well i don't know how it is solved at the end but i guess most of our members saw the story.

I can happily answer your questions in pms if you want to learn about me. DB is a big and respectable diving community and i'm happy to be part of it. Lets keep away from low kicks!

Thanks, Memo, for replying. I think you overreact a bit here, just as you overreacted in the thread on Medfish. I did not see any nasty low kicks in the discussion on your website, and I do not understand how a photo of a product received from manufacturer can be considered a nasty low kick, so I find strange the need to remove it. Or did you suspect some manipulation in the photo?

In the same way, I admit that I may have incorrectly interpreted your posts (and I apologize for it), but you wrote in several instances that you knew people were preparing nasty comments on the thread, and that you had knowledge about some PM chatter in the background. I am sorry if I misunderstood it, but it definitely sounds very odd, and it might be better avoiding posting such info. It is normal to ban a member who does not obey forum policies, or removing non-conform post, but menacing all members in advance, telling them that you know they prepare something nasty by PM's indeed sounds quite strange. But it is your forum, so you are certainly free to act as you find suitable. I am just telling that it sounds strange to an outsider.

"Trux" my trusted friend - how could you!

Memo's forum is very well run & he is a conscentious and intelligent fellow - just like yourself - this is an obvious misunderstanding

I can vouch for Memo as well.

It is his choice to not tolerate contentious posts - I cannot disagree. Just as I do not disagree with the way things are managed here on DB.

To my mind it is up to the guys running the sites.

A couple of things. I am a member of Medfish too and it is a well-run site. Memo is a stand-up bloke and I am sure he has managed things accordingly.
Secondly, I too am appalled by how this 'manufacturer' has behaved on an international forum which is populated by many potential customers!! As someone who used to import spearing gear many moons ago I simply cannot understand Ravelo's behaviour. Any 'legal' action should be discussed between the parties privately and the OP is perfectly entitled to voice his opinions to other forum-members. The shoddy PR which Ravelo has generated for his company will not endear him to potential new customers, many of them DB AND medfish members (don't forget that many people are members of both forums). I hope he sees sense although I fear it's too late now.

Guess I shouldnt mention that I reported them to monster energy for potential breach of copyright over the logo then. No sir. That'd be bad. O

Under the new legal framework that the Italians apparently adopted last week, you'll probably be hung for that.
