Apnea Diet

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
I have found that avoiding hydrogenated fat (not just before a dive, but all the time) greatly reduces acid reflux.

As in margarine and that sort of thing? On one of my dive trips, the galley served very greasy hamburgers. That didn't seem to help matters.
 
Its not always what i eat that i get it, as it happens i hardly ever do anymore atall. Its normally if i've eat quite a bit of anything then dive. 2-3 hours without eating as a minimum and no problems, proteins take longer to digest so a big bacon and egg butty or a hamburger an hour before would be a guarenteed problem.

If i feel i need the energy and i haven't eaten properly i take it in liquid form as a drink.

Yes, it is in many food products, including margarine, pastries, fried foods, biscuits and many others. Some brands contain it and others don't. Here in the UK it has disappeared from almost all foods because of the health risks.
