Apnea/Freediving Course

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
Someone else had recommended this freediving manual as well. Great to know you all recommend it. Thanks ILDiver and Jon.

Do you wear something on your feet besides you diving fins to keep them warm? Also what kind of gloves do you wear for warmth?

I go barefoot in my fins and don't have a problem with warmth. I'm pretty tolerant of cold. But the rubber is much more durable than skin. And my skin last about 2 hours in the water, then it's game over.

I always use socks...keeps the feet from getting chaffed (sp).

Also, in the cold, I have 5mm open cell socks that match my wet suit.

For gloves in the cold, I use 5mm open cell 3-fingered gloves...keeps the trigger finger free.

bgill, why are there patches on the knees of my tights? Those were almost new when I loaned them to you. The cape sure, that has seen better days, but those are custom made Italian tights!

Jon -the course has changed a bit since we talked. Let me know if you need the new outline that I'm using for my PADI Distinctive. It's easy to change it with PADI, you just email them through the revised outline.

Sam,

I wrote up my own outline and haven't changed anything in it.

Maybe you could pm me the couple of details that you have changed in yours?

JON - Seeing how we are not doing a course NEXT WEEK- do you (if you don't mind) want to set up a date in the spring- That will give people time to plan. I know Tass and I both pick our Vacations for next year here in about a week or so.

Also, Freeze-A-Palooza - I kinda figured the middle of Feb again. If that seemed to work well for you all last year. Maybe Set it in stone (aka Make it Sticky)

Just thinking ahead is all. I've shown people the video from last year- they think you're all crazy.

Nostres- If you need a back up 'Didge' let me know- I Have one - I'm not as good as others- but I do make noise

I piggy back the freeze-a-palooza on the in-law's annual ice diving course. SHould be the second weekend in February- as it has been for the past 26 years. I do it this way because the already have to warming house rneted and the holes cut for us.

I'll have to double check with my wife on course dates for the spring. I remember this last spring being super busy with birthdays and holidays- we had to drive somewhere every weekend for 8 outof 10 weeks last spring.:head
