I wanted to go to the Charlottes this year but conceded to TC as the place that more people would be able to access, but it looks like it made no difference

i hope its ok that i can only do one day on the boat. i have -400 in the bank as is. had to be a pizza driver just to be able to come out but i didn't want to miss it

Next year I'll just post up where I'm going and leave it at that. Darcy dont worry at all- like I said, the more the merrier. Some of my best memories are from these trips, hanging out, diving, telling fish stories, and exploring. This year will be awesome too I'm sure!

i bent a spear shaft. i can still load and shoot it but just in case it gets really bad.

i'm soooo pumped for this

can you bring your line training stuff? i have my lead down now so i think i can go alot deeper

Latest news: Derek has been called back to a logging job, so Lindsey will be running the boat. Thanks to Derek for making sure we were covered! He may still be up in TC to say hi.

ok, look for me on one of the very early ferries out of Tsawwassen Saturday morning. short of me be recalled for a fire, I'm in untill the 16th -ish.

Erik - I'll call tomorrow and see if I can get a camp spot near you guys. if you need a spot to crash halfway on the drive down, my pad in kelowna is open. room for 4



f anyone needs a ride, contact me by Thursday night, should have room for one. absolutely no promises on a return ride though - on call again just like last time.

sounds like a plan. I bet Muddy Waters will have it (nice pub next to the float plane docks). are you staying at the Buc?

Sharing a campsite would be great, always down with expanding the budget. Madprops- PM Sent

Ok it's GO time!
Sherri and I are leaving at 4:30 PM today, will probably drive 6+ hours into BC and spend the night in the van. Saturday morning we'll drive straight to Horseshoe Bay for the ferry then over to Nanaimo. We'll be watching the UFC fights at a pub somewhere in nanaimo and sleeping in the van. Early Sunday morning we'll drive up to Port Hardy.
Looks like we have: Erik, Sherri, Lee, Darcy, Colin for the first 2 days for sure! See you there!

first off - Jim, I'll try and give you a ring tomorrow.

Jim, Connor, and the folks from last year: not the same without you. just completed our 4th day of diving. weather has cooperated, Viz hasn't. most sites are soupy until 40ish feet. we've taken some excellent rockfish & greenling. one sole yesterday. no ling yet, but we're hopeful. Humpback Whales, harbor porpoise, sea lions, seals, otters, and 100s of BC Buzzards (bald eagles) have been seen.

Darcy (madprops) is making massive progress in his diving, hitting 50' with a decent level of comfort today. He keeps us posted with a constant play by play

I'll let Erik fill you in on the rest...

Having a fantastic time, even with the slugs.
