B.C. Deeper Blue Trip 2009

I have booked 1 campsite for July 13-18. I got a more sunny spot as in the trees was too cold somedays. I will get a power adapter and we can run lights and heaters. It's 25$ for the site, and an additional 10$ for any extra tent, so show up whenever and we'll work out the costs. I may be there a day early. The owner remembers us as this is the 4th year and is very helpful.
I am in E70 http://www.telegraphcoveresort.com/images/campground map.pdf they will try to direct any other spearfisherman bookings as close as possible to that site unless you want otherwise. I know Lee will have his family on his own site- my site can have as many tents as possible- doesn't matter.
Next is to book the boat for a few days.

It's July 11-19 in full... for us Edmontowners- 2 days to get there, 2 days to get back.

I'm still going to try hard to come to this. work has been very difficult and demanding lately, and very sporadic, so can't guarantee my presence. if I can make it I'll sort out accommodations then.

I have merged the 2 threads that related to this year's trip! I was getting confused- I'd started a "planning" trip in 2008 and another more recently.

It appears that Markus has sold his business, and the new owners arent responding to me about booking the boat, so we should look at other options. Lee if you have Lindsay's info, we could get him to get a boat up to PHardy for a few days would be great. I'll look into other stuff too.

OK. It's go time. I need to know who is absolutely positive that they are coming and prepared to split costs on a boat before I book anything with my CCard. I have 2 for sure including myself, and Lee for some days it looks like. I think the Monday we should get settled and shore dive, then if we have a boat, dive Tues/Wed for sure, then more days if we have enough people.
I can't pay all by myself for a charter, and some operations only accept 4 cuustomers max, so if I know the numbers I will book the right thing if possible.
This Friday June 12 will be the cutoff- if there aren't enough to book the boat then I wont. If there are more of us and you commit later on, maybe you can get on the boat depending on the operator's rules.
I'll send this out on facebook to all that I have connections to also.

I will likely be there Sunday afternoon/evening. The limiting factor for me is that we need to leave by Wednesday morning in order to make it to my family reunion in Montana, as we did the math on google maps this week. I am planning to get in the water Monday and Tuesday. I am good for shore or boat those two days.

Does anyone coming have a crab trap?

I am fine to shore dive on Monday if that is the case. Schedule whatever you think is best for the week overall.

Still trying to get Lindsey- sent an email, home phone is defunct, out of area on the cel. If not there are a few others that look like they would be good. Generally we're looking at 600$ for 5 hours or so, divided between the clients. But it's getting to the time where we may not get in due to demand, so I want to do it this week.

Update. I've talked to Lindsey- here's my response:
Hey! Glad to hear from you Lindsey.
Probably 4 maximum people, maybe less- it's hard to get solid answers out of people at the moment. For sure the 13/14 there will be minimum 3, then probably 2 more days that there would be minimum 2 people- probably more.
So I'm gonna say 13/14, then 15/16 for sure for a minimum 4hrs each day.

i dont think ill be booking any boat time as im not sure what days ill be coming for but on the other hand the water has been really nice i was spearing from 8-12:30 and was sweating in my 5mm so its looking to be warming up for you guys

The 250HP Zodiac is booked! Derek has bought the boat from Lindsey and has been doing SCUBA charters in Nanaimo, and will come up to TC for our week. During that week we could use him as much as we want- for sure is July 13/14, probably a day off on the 15th Wednesday, then open to what we want for Thurs/Friday.
