Barack Obama, Hawaiian Spearo?!

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.

Dear Royal Highness:

We wayward children must re-inform our esteemed progenitor of just a few things prior to the implimentation of your noteworthy plan.
  • Our alphabet does contain the letter "H" leaving us with a total of 26 letters.
  • We (middle North American in contrast to our northern North American Canadian cousins) DO NOT in general drink hot tea (espcially with dairy product in it). We prefer it cold with ice and sometimes lemon & sweetener and we usually use a straw. Thought that issue was explained back in '73 at Boston Harbor. Side dishes for "tea time" include guacamole, melted queso, jalapenos, frijoles, and salsa picante over tortilla chips. These are called nachos supremos. If you are from the slightly wierder side of the continent (called California) you may put creama fresca (sour cream) on them. Please refer to your Spanish dictionary for translation. Optional beverages include COLD beer.
  • We don't do Yorkshire Pudding.
  • Should your rule be reasserted do all the Irish, Aussies, Canuks, Scotts, Welsh, South Africans, Indians, and Pakistanis have to return to their respected commonwealths?
  • Will judges have to wear wigs? Why?
  • Which side of the road will we have to drive on--the right, right or now left, right. Who's going to change out all the traffic lights.
  • Fox-n-hounds permitted in parks?
  • Do we have to give back London Bridge and the "Queen Mary"?
  • Will tasting of haggis be required and will bare naked hairy legs beneath skirts be permitted?
  • Who gets New Orleans and Las Vegas. Who wants Tennessee, Kentucky and Arkansas?
  • Will you teach us how to properly run a passanger train?
  • Can I have one of those neat metal suits from the Tower?
And lastly, will we be allowed to have those niffty red double decker busses?

Might be best to let us keep bumping into walls 'til we find our own way out of the maze. :head

PS. Please keep Charlie over there. :inlove

Hmmmmm, now there's another idea that might have some merit, tricky though. My sympathies to the queen for taking on such a thankless project. Talk about stepping into something brown, smelly, and very sticky! Now the poor lady has to try and get it off her shoe.

I wonder, if Ghadaffi was a spear fisherman and a freediver ... would you vote for him ?

BTW, nice endorsement for Hussein Obama in this video:

Roy and Jay - I've deleted your posts. No getting personal here, if you are going to discuss politics be respectful to each other.

On another note, that video by Gaddafi cracks me up, lovely source of disinformation. What I didn't know is that he is considered such a reliable source on US history and politics by Republicans. I say Republicans because I'm assuming that this video is making the rounds through the Republican grapevine because obviously what ever Gaddafi says must be true. I can't belive that anyone can belive him, of all people. He only took, what, 20 years to own up to Lockerbie? Nobody belives what he says, not even the Republicans really, it's just being used for cheap propaganda - just as Gaddafi is using the US election for his own US-bashing hoping to keep his own popularity up at home.

So--keep it light hearted porfavor!

adrian i just do not believe negative anti campaigning is the way forward, no offence to roy whatsoever .
i just dont get what the fear of barrack obama is
i feel if he gets in theres more of a chance of global peace otherwise im quite uncertain and worried
let me say again i wish nobody any offence or harm , linking a tyrant to somebody who may have a world wide influence will just spread fear..

Adrian, your post was anything but "lighthearted". After chastising Jay and I you went all out in support of the Left's political view.

As for Ghadaffi, funny thing you know, he was repeating word for word, the extrimist Leftwing propaganda. Funny, how this cookie crumbles, huh ?

I judge people, by the friends they keep. USA, as well as the rest of the world knows very little about Hussein Obama. As for his friends; there seems to be a patten of paling with unsavory characters in his life and a pattern of endorsements by dictators.

From Bill Ayers (unrepentant Marxist & terrorist) & Khalid al-Mansour (Islamist and anti-Semite), to Ghadaffi & Chavez and other tin pot dictators.

With endorsements like this, excuse me if I find it offensive when people say that if Obama was possibly a freediver they would vote for him.

Still curios, if Ghadaffi was a spearfisherman or a freediver, would the same people on this board endorse this man for a political office ?

The "chastizing" of you and Jay was because it was getting too personal, not because of either of your beliefs. I do have my political views but I can assure you for me both the left and right are sold out to big business, that's where the real wars are, dangerous economic undercurrents of supply and demand with ensuing power for those who have the supply to decide over others at their whim. George Washington said it nicely: "America doesn't have friends, it has interests." That goes for all countries by the way. There may be some changes when different govenments take charge, but being left or right nowadays is just travelling different sides of a single lane on a narrow highway - the highway that the big transnationals set down for all to travel. However I don't belive real power lies in politics nor economics but in consciousness, and that's a whole other story for another time. :)

My comment re Gaddafi is that knowing how he conducts himself it's rather useless to use him as a reference. Doing things like that always bounces back on one because the truth does have a way of getting in our faces once in a while! Time is the great equalizer though. Whatever the outcome of the elections, everybody on both sides do have a desire to move forwards, and I do wish, that no matter who wins, this happens, to the extent it is allowed to.

In Spain we have a legal communist party - but it was so mild it was called it the "Royal Communist Party". They are just slightly left of center. You know, some of them had expensive houses, swimming pools, all the perks of capitalism! Whoever is trying to compare (whoever's bright idea it was) the US democrats to communism has little knowledge of Stalin and Mao's communism. There's an abyss in between, and anyone who tries to bridge it will simply fall in. It is not a realistic comparison.

Time to end this though, during elections there's a lot of dirty politics going on - but afterwards, I'm sure they go and have a cup of coffee together or whatever.

Of couse man, that goes without saying!

Our beliefs are similar in this sense. However I do believe that consciousness manifests itself in politics and economics

There is legal Communist Party in USA as well. I still don't understand why a political movement that is responsible for staving and torturing to death close to 100million people in the last century isn't made illegal just like National Socialist Party (NAZIS) was made illegal in Europe.

I know very well (from extensive personal experience) the difference between Stalin's, Mao's and Pol Pot's communism and the "soft" Communism ala Spain or USA Communist Party;

The rhetoric is EXACTLY the same. The only difference is; Spanish and US Communists are not in power.

Call me old fashioned, but I wouldn't have a cup of coffee with some of the Obama's friends or endorsers. There are better things to do, then rub your shoulders with apologists for Stalin and Pol Pot. I'd rather be freediving.

Diddo!

I think this has gone a little overboard. maybe the thread should be moved to the beach board? Not reall a Spearo Board topic anymore:t

Depends how cute his running mate is and their position on elk hunting, obviously. Does he surf too?;)

Of course, it depends on what the alternative is too (PETA/Anglo-Welsh Greens?).

Ghadaffi is now supposedly a friend of the west, is waging no wars, has lots of oil & no banking crisis. How about Mugabi - boogie boarder? (Definitely not a spearo).

Do John McCain/Joe Biden hunt/fish/surf?

....Do John McCain/Joe Biden hunt/fish/surf?

I bet Biden would stab himself with a pole spear as a "protest against cruel fish spearing practices", just so he can get a few more votes out of the PETA types. rofl

al gore seemed to have a lead

just thought id put this on :)
i read that in july , a pupil in england scored 7% in his gcse exams by writing (f$$k off ) as an answer to all his questions

in all fairness one of the questions may have been
what should george w bush do?rofl

LOL

i heard a story similar. Statistically speaking, on a 4 choice, multi choice question (a,b,c,d), C is supposed to be right 33% of the time (at bare minimum 25%)...

well this guy got one of those sheets that you fill in teh dots and is read by computer.. and figured he'd just put in all c's the whole way down...

turns out it was a yes/no, true/false test roflroflroflroflroflroflrofl

for those that dont get it, that'd mean a,b are the only available answers :p

Did he spell it correctly or with $$?:D 7% is a fail. An article in yesterday's paper claimed the standard for each grade has dropped a full grade every decade. So by the time this pupil retires his "f$$k off" will probably be worth an A*****.:D

Reminds me of [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winston_Churchill"]Winston Churchill[/ame], who is supposed to have written nothing in one of his exams (entry exam to Harrow?); I think it was included in the movie Young Winston(?). He got in. With that in mind, perhaps the pupil in question is destined for greatness too (although being the grandson of the Duke of Marlborough and an American millionaire probably did no harm;)).

and he wins

although it dosent affect me much or anyone else i know as im australian
still. good on him

The most important thing is not who the new president is , but the getting rid of the current one !

As far as I know US is the first contry to choose a spear fisherman !

Maybe we are on the beggining of a spear fishing revolution.
