Barack Obama, Hawaiian Spearo?!

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 90 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
As far as I know US is the first contry to choose a spear fisherman !
No, as I wrote at the beginning of the thread, Fidel Castro was an avid spearfisher too. Though, on the other hand, it can be disputed whether he was really chosen by the people, or installed himself at the power.

Still, congratulation and thanks to US citizens for electing Obama. Although far to be the ideal candidate, it is still better having him at the power than again another madman who menaces with 100 years wars, bombing Iran, and other similar threats in his rhetorics. It is a pity though you did not give more chance to Ron Paul.

although peace is not guaranteed nor is tomorrow , i think peace has more of a chance
well done america you ve chosen wisely i think your decision will have a profound effect on the rest of us
thanks , so touching to see rev jesse jackson weeping.

While most of us choose to discuss and vote, the fear I have is that something as dramatic as this tends to bring out the worst in the extremeists, regardless of political/religious leanings. If I was Obama I'd triple the personal G-Men and get a Popemobile.

Strangelove: Trux said, re Castro, "Though, on the other hand, it can be disputed whether he was really chosen by the people, or installed himself at the power." so I guess we are all on the same page.

On topic: I'm happy for the World and the US at the new possibility of change, I was there yesterday (the US) and there was this wonderful feeling of optimism that has been eroded in the last few years.

GOOD LUCK!

I am not sure if you can tripple that what W already had. As far as I heard he was extremely paranoid, and the expenses for his safety broke all records.

Greeting fellow comrades and also helpful enemies of what is NOW the state. Let me assure the former of my completely mutual devotion and infinite tolerance and the latter that you will be crushed like the parasitic insects you are not worthy of being compared to beneath the otherwise-ecologically- sensitive- and environmentally- correct soles of our genuine american indian style chinese made stealth mocs.

Now that our blessed savior and godless friend of the Imams and his terrorist aging college professor comrades not to mention people who may also hold views not consistent with spiritual-neutonianism have seized the day, we will provide every man woman and child in america with absolutely everything while crushing dissent - assuring a painless and unnoticed decent into the infinite compassion of socialist tyranny.

Meanwhile:
I'm going divin', bitches

Well, I went diving the day before with azapa and worked my butt off election day getting people to the polls. Don't know which one was the trick, but I'll sure try both again next time. Azapa, put November 1, 2012 on your calender, required attendance. I don't care if you live in Chile.

WWWHHHHHOOOOOOOPPPIIEEEE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On the positive side: it was uplifting to see America elect its first spear fishing president - one of our own so to speak:).
On the negative side: Congress, Senate & President all run by the same party suggests a dangerous lack of the usual "checks & balances". Also, no more Sarah Palin :(.

Nothing to see here. Get moving comrades.
VIVA OBAMA and don't you dare to stop clapping your hands after his speech.

He won fair and square and still had time to kill some fish ! But don't worry just give enough rope and the democrats will hang them self's. Politicians needed to be replace on a regular basis. Your statement does not hold water the current administration was the one that started the rhetoric of "if you don't agree with me you must not like your country", totally undemocratic and silencing the debate.

Back to what matters, spear fishing !

Here it is, the snook he landed down in Brazil almost a world record.rofl

There's been a lot of that going on in the UK over the last decade too:(.

John McCain handled the result well, he's a good guy. Probably a relief too, for him/his wife. I'm sure he would be a heck of spear fisherman. Pity he didn't get the chance to run instead of W 8 years ago, maybe things would have worked out better.

Agree ! Boy you've hit the nail right on head ! We would be so much better today.

BTW the snook comes from the bay we catch the mullet, I friend of mine landed it last week, 25 kg.

It's not just "Congress, Senate & President" ...
95% of "Mass Media" and all of the public education system controlled by a single political party which happens to quote out of "Mao's Little Red Book".

Not a good thing if you ask me. That's how NAZI Germany and Soviet Union got started.

We're all maoists now eh? I look forward to the day you present us with an original idea.

The problem, as I see it - and I am absolutely right - is the whole bit has got too politicized. Take George Bush, for example. Now that he's out of the running he's actually begun to govern. Another good example is our man Roy, I'll bet you 18cents he has not had actual contact with any of Obamas ideas, but rather is feeding off versions spooned out to him.

Another good example in this country are gun owners. Theres been a run on firearms thanks to the NRA's attempt to portray Obama as a guy who's going to take everybody's guns away. Shear hysteria - unsupported by the record if you take the time to look.

Mccain started to show what appeared to be some pretty serious lapses in judgement. I've always thought well of him, and still do, but this is not his time.

As a country we seem to have lost the ability to work together and actually wish whoever is in office well. The mere fact that they are identified with what we imagine to be 'the other side' means we condemn them right out of the gate. It's tar pit thinking my friends.

In this state we had a proposal on the ballot to allow stem cell research in the state. Many people decried it as immoral, said it would cost taxpayer dollars blah blah. What it was about was creating a biotech corridor in this state which, along with wind energy, can enable us to move out of the automotive industry which, frankly, the chinese will soon kick our asses in, and into advanced biotech and alternative energy - where we can exploit the american capacity for innovation and get into an industry -- alt energy - that the Chinese and every other budding industrial nation desperately need because of blistering pollution problems. This kind of thinking is not political, or idealistic, or socialistic or any other convenient pe-packaged template for the identity deprived - it's smart - and smart is what we need to be now - unless you want to go down Roy's road to fossildom.

Umm, he ran against Bush for the Republican nomination, didn't he? Admittedly on completely different policies than he's promoting now, but still technically the same man.

Good to see the red threat is still alive and kicking in the US. I watched Red Dawn the other day for a laugh; that said a lot about the successful fear-mongering of the time!

Sounds like a massive communist infiltration, I am sure that is what Kubrick was trying to tell us back on the 60's, I think the whole country has being drinking too much fluoridated water. Roy is probably the only one drinking rain water among us, that is why he can see true. Our bodily fluids are impure.
