Kernowsniper , I asked my wife to take a look at your post , she's a consultant surgeon and can usually offer accurate advice based on little information . However she point-blank refuses where damage to the ears is concerned , apparently it's such a specialised area of medicine that even the ear , nose and throat unit has consultants who specialise in the ear only .
So you may have to wait to get a definitive diagnosis , James T is right a
GP may not have the right experience .
Unfortunately , he is also right about not stressing a damaged ear .
You can do irreparable damage ( i.e. never diving again ) if you do .
This is not what you want to hear but a little caution now might save heartache later on .

Had a dive at swanpool this evening. Nothing to report except I saw a small mullet or bass jump out of the water to take a fly or something. Water was nice and clear. Swanpool does not seem too fishy yet, just little'uns.

Had my first couple of dives with "spearflap" showing me the ropes.Both south coast good vis and quite a few fish (although none worth taking)nice to see such an abundance of life down there,Anyway cheers to "spearflap" look forwards to the next dive.

My new suits arrive from Elios yesterday - went for open cell with nylon outer - slips on really well with a wee bit of lube - will be testing it out in the Welsh waters tomorrow morning!
If you're interested in the different neoprenes, there were a ton of offcuts in the box - was really impressed with the titanium coated open cell, I very much doubt you'd need lube with it, SUPER slippery!
Any of Elios' neoprenes you particularly interested in? I've got about 7 or 8 different types.
I seem to remember that mine came with some random neoprene that had nothing to do with the suit I'd ordered (so not much use for repairs).
Hi guys, I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed our few days in Cornwall.
We had a great time in Newquay, had fantastic weather & that obviously helped but we also found the whole experience a fantastic fun break.
I just love custom cars so to see some of the best in Britain in the town over last weekend was spot on (I liked the cosworth powered reliant robin)
Surfnspear showed us some of the more beautiful sites of the area & some great surf too.
Great live music & a free 14 band event on Sat night was very good however I just loved the semi tame seals more than anything (although Bretts mum in'laws house was equally impressive!) else!!
There seemed to be about 6 seals that lived in the harbour mouth, some were positively huge, they swam amongst the surfers & accepted hand fed mackerel from the fishing boats. (probably unethical but better than a zoo?)
Penzance was attractive but Mousehole was beautiful, Truro cathedral was even more beautiful & Padstow a worthy destination after an amazing coastal bus ride!
Plymouth was a very interesting city although the cathedral was surrounded by a housing estate & many of the historic buildings equally hidden amongst modern commercial concrete constructions, it still remains one of my best visited cities.
In fact I thought Plymouth a very reasonably priced venue full of history & surrounded by lovely countryside.
Sarah is keen to return for Xmas shopping & I am keen to stay in Boringdon Hall so we will be back.

Padaxes , don't worry about it , he doesn't like Red Mullet so his taste must be regarded as suspect . My sister says they're all mutants anyway , she lives on a nearby island called Jumper or cardigan or something like that .

Thing is when you live on a island that is a 3 x 9 mile triangle you can see other places in a strange light?
I did have one thought though - we did the tourist boat trip thing around the navy warships & nuclear subs & it seemed to me Plymouth is going to be the first place in Britain to have a fusion boom delivered on it in case of war!?

I think during the Cold War, Plymouth was one of the top five targets to be wiped out.
Hooked up with a couple of friends today who kindly showed me a new spot that they were sure was fishy. Conditions were spot on in every way. Got in and checked the deeper bits for pollack, then the shallows for silver fish. Happened upon a transition in the reef structure and my sixth sense told me that things could be promising. A couple of aspettos yielded a glimpse of takeable pollack but nothing in range. As I was breathing up I saw a large shape winding its way toward me above the kelp. Bass. I was really scared of spooking it so I let it proceed under me very gently tracking behind myself with my arm. Just as it was on the fringe of range for my 75 I took the shot and it was on. FIRST BASS!!!:friday:friday:friday.Totally over the moon as it was just shy of 50cm by our estimation. On my way back in I had a seal encounter which spooked me, bumped into some mullet and took one (who came off but I managed to get him back).
Had both fish on a portable barbie for lunch done in foil with Rock Samphire and lemon. Had a cold swim afterwards to celebrate.

Nice to see you boys are hitting into some fish!!! I'm moving back down to Cornwall for the summer a week tomorrow, so i'm really hoping the vis holds and the fish are waiting for an over-eager spearo to flap around clumsily after them. Seriously though, really looking forward to getting back in and pushing the bass pb's a little further 
.
