All this talk of food foxfish is making me hungry I saw those guernsey pics, that lobster looked fab did you do anything with it (other than boil)? I tried lobster tagliteli once, not bad?

Joe that was a 10.5lb crayfish not a lobster, I cooked it in clarified Guernsey butter.

Just pressed the auto colour button in photoshop! Made quite an improvement from the original.

Tried a sheltered spot on the south coast but the vis was terrible, put the bags on the seat in the car and drove round the corner in my suit to try again only to get in the sea and find out a clip had fallen off my fins argh! much walking / driving around later i recovered it but i never got a proper dive.

Still ive just ordered a go-pro hero camera thats cheered me up

I ordered the Bike frame attachment kit hoping i can use it to attached to the back of my gabbiano, anyone know if this will work ? I was planning to bolt it just behind the loading pad coming out sideways.

Went to my usual spot on the south coast, vis was pretty poor but worth staying for. There was absolutly loads of pollock everywhere, huge sholes, all doing.... nothing. Just floating around - it was all a little eerie really hahaa. Not many worth taking, bagged a nice one for supper as I still havnt seen one bass?! been out about 6 times since Ive been down and not seen one bass

Thinking of trying the Lizard tomorrow, any advice welcome in terms of tides and general areas to play in - feel free to PM if there trade secrets

Well, I didn’t soak it in salt but I did everything else and shared it with my girlfriends dad who claims to know 2 things very well - the other is the taste of fish! Anyway, to cut a long story short it was delicious and even 'he' described it as 'Champaign'

The trusty Mullet is now firmly placed on my catch list where possible and thanks again for the recipe so since my holl started I’ve eaten endless Pollack, a fillet of Mullet, all I want now is a Bass then I’m a happy spearo!

Dived down near the Helford yesterday.Vis was generally good,though patchy at times.Saw a few mullet and couple of bass but wanted something better.After a mile or so of finning i dropped to about 5 meters and rounded a rock into a sandy opening and slowly took in the scene.Sadly i failed to see the clearly double figured bass that was just lying on the sand until he clocked me and moved off at an angle that would have been foolish to let a shot off.I tried but failed to relocate it and gave in, feeling thoroughly deflated.A long swim back to the beach.
Even as i sat in Chantek restaurant last night enjoying a nice wedding anniversary meal with my wife, all i could see was the shadowy figure of the biggest bass i've ever seen slowly,and surely mockingly, fading into the gloom. Needless to say i didn't opt for the chef's special of pan fried seabass.
I've yet to see whether or not i captured it on film.

Cracking place Chantek - top choice:fridayLove their Green Curry. In fact I've just served a replica for me and the other half!

I was under the impression it was bad PR to go anywhere near the Helford with a speargun . I got an earful once off a local lady who thought I was spearfishing in the river (I was freediving/snorkelling) and a fishing boat also slowed to case me out in a rather intimidating manner. Anyone know the score with that area?

Steer clear of between Rosemullion Head and Nare Point as far as hunting bass is concerned as it's a nursery. Or at least that's what i've always believed.

I only meant i was in the Helfrod area but i'll be keeping the exact spot under my hat
