also went in on the south coast tonight with TomH, vis was 3-4m at best. Got a smallish pollack after missing the one was aiming for. Saw a spearo on his way back in on a blue kayak with a rod mounted on the back and wondered if it was anyone on here ? and alsoif he caught anything ?
Impressed with those bream too. Any tips on where to find Bream and how to shoot them (will they come to you like Bass for example).
My wife loves bream so i could probably gain some significant domestic credit if I took some home. Given that "domestic credit" gets traded for "pink slips" to go out and play, the accrual of such credit is an important part of my spearo experience.

Hey All... had some really good dives this week..
So stoked with the catches so far altho I missed a shot on what I reckon to be a 8lb+ fish today cos the kelp got in my way.. grrrr :head
Also had a red mullet that I reckon to have been a good 2-3lbs tear off as I got him into my hand which was pretty annoying too.
Loads of bass around at the mo.. seen lots of BIG fish today.. it seems the bigger they are the wiser they are so harder to spear but thats part of the fun.. had moments where I have been visibly shaking with adrenaline from coming closer and closer to spearing my "nemesis" bass!! Hope your all gettin some good fish too.. back to the same mark again tomorrow to hunt for the big one.. already amped!!

unfortunately the cam has been playing up a bit lately.. plus I'm sure the fact that the gopro head mount makes it look like I have a massive eye one my head makes the fish way more skittish.. so lately just been divin with out it.. once we get some long periods of good vis its definaely comin out again tho
The murkiest waters on the North Coast! Checked a spot at lowtide and my head said NO.. but my gut said.. you never know!
Surface viz was nothing! , but the bottom was 2m in places so just about huntable. Actually spotted about 6 Bass despite this. As usual the biggest fish I saw showed me only its tail. BIG shoals of bait fish, and also an Edible Crab out from its hole.
Not a bad dive as pleanty to see even in the murk, although exhausting as had to hunt on the bottom. PLEASE.. can I have a few days of S Eastlies??
Wifie got me a Gopro for my Bday, so need to get some brackets to fix it to the gun so I can video the murk

Just speared a very good sized Pollock... Good dive, good vis, maybe 12-14 metres deep.
Did a short 40 sec bottom time and then came around a big kelp head....had to wait ages for him to turn his flank, then boom ... gill shot. Didn't see any Bass today despite KNOWING there were some around. Still very happy with this one. Dive safe....

Had a dive yesterday, wasn't feeling to good , had a bit of a cold so was planning to take it easy but after a few test dives I went out a bit deeper and bagged myself a 4lb pollack. The vis was pretty cloudy on the north coast but there was a little bit of swell. As usual saw loads of small bass but not a single big one

Pav if your looking for a go pro mount look at hang-glider camera mounts, heres one that i modified it works much better than the go pro branded mounts

Though I agree with sniper I think having a go pro mounted tends to scare the fish more!

I have never noticed any problems with having a gopro mounted. I have mine on the side of my speargun handle.
John Rogers in the article is John in the Truro shop that I suggested might be able to varify the species and possible uk record status.
Desperate to get out but have kids this weekend. Thinking of towing them behind me on Kayak and dinghy.
