Is there any more info on the freediving?Last I heard there was talk about a fri and mon session. Has anything been confirmed?

Hi everyone,

We are only 3 days away from the start of the 3rd Annual DeeperBlue.com Guernsey Meet and things are shaping up for an excellent event this year.

I know a few members have arrived on the island already and i'm traveling tomorrow evening to start getting things ready with Mart (@foxfish) and Steve (@apneaboy).

A few logistics I thought i'd let you know about:
  • Thursday - there is an unofficial meet for early-birds arriving in the evening from 18:30 at the Terrace Cafe in St Peter Port - http://www.terracegardencafe.com/
  • Friday - the first official Social of the weekend will be from 19:00 at the Wayside Cheer Hotel at Grande Rock http://www.waysidecheerhotel.com/ - this will be where we discuss final logistics for the weekend as well as safety and rules so please make sure you are there. Name badges will be available so you know who everyone is. You'll also receive your goodie bag for the event at this social
  • Saturday - we'll confirm location and timings for Saturday on the Friday social for both the Spearfishing Comp and the Freediving. The social will be from 19:00 at the Boat House in St Peter Port http://theboathouse.gg/
  • Sunday - we'll confirm location and timings for Sunday on the Saturday social for both the Spearfishing Comp and the Freediving. The final social of the weekend and prize giving will be from 18:30 at Foxfish's house.
  • The Sunday social this year will be completely sponsored by DeeperBlue.com. The Thurs, Fri and Sat social's will have a small drink budget behind the bar from DeeperBlue.com but other costs will be paid for by yourselves - menus and costs have been circulated on the official thread prior to this.
  • Contacts - check your email for telephone contacts of Mart and myself!
  • Sponsors - i'm pleased to say we have had generous sponsorship from Fourth Element (http://www.fourthelement.com) for the goodie bags as well as one of the prizes. The main competition prize is donated from Apnea (http://www.apnea.co.uk) on Jersey and all other prizes are provided from DeeperBlue.com Exclusives (http://exclusives.deeperblue.com) store.
Finally - i'm very much looking forward to seeing everyone! See you in Guernsey

Hi Kerin, it seems the Monday evening will be the most popular choice, so I will run the course then. I'll post exact details of the diving and course once I've met up with Stephan tomorrow.

Out this morn with grantl n kerin got a 2 lbs bass so I'm happy !not much seen few mullet .Never fin so much great drift dives tho !Bring on some more fish .PS think there trying to train me up or kill me off!

Can't make this evening, busy shucking scallops. Will be at the Wayside tomorrow.
 
Oh cr@p! Bar budget?! That is just a twist of the knife! sounds like it's shaping up to be another crackin do! You all have fun and keep the updates flowing like the omd brew! Stay off the red mart! Chilli scallops! This years are even better, garlic chilli scallops, guaranteed to burn both ends.

Warm calm and flat this morning see if I can muster the big boy to get in !need to work off the body weight of cider we drank last night .let the fish come in .yeti Edin it's horrible here you really wouldn't of liked it !x
