Thanks stephan I haven't been on here for a while and had a horrible feeling I had missed out.

This week Kerin! I'm playing catch up from being over at the DEMA Show in the US

The "Jersey Boys" have booked the hotel. Most of us are travelling on Wednesday and the remainder on Friday. We are really looking fwd to it.

Good idea!
You never know there may be more fish around next year but I think that making a few small changes to the format will make for more fun.

Divide and conquer? nah! The Jsy boys are looking fwd to the event, particularly because they enjoy the camaraderie of being one group ie the Jsy boys. We wld definitely rather be one group than split. The team tankard, which we introduced, is only intended as a bit of fun. For us it wld not be the same in smaller groups. There are only eight of us out of 20 spearos, so as per last year we are more than willing to take on the 12! We need a challenge ha ha! Come on Grant, u can do it!

So that's nearly a 50/50 with a few drop outs. no wonder you still have the cup ! so you southern softies are scared to take on the shire on your own then?x

I get what you're saying Mike but having 40% of the attendees in one team together maybe isn't the best format if we're talking about a fun event?
Things have moved on over the last few years and there's more Guernsey spearos involved as well as people coming from all over the UK. I'd not considered it as Jersey v everyone else tbh :-( ??
It was just a suggestion really but I think it would be a better event with more teams surely?
Whether I'm in a 2 or 3 person team against 8 Jersey men in 3 or 4 teams or even 1 team it doesn't really matter - I'm sure it'll be a laugh
