Incidentally the shore fishing comp was eventually won by a 13.13 bass!

Right folks - we had the list officially closed at 32 people now. You can still register from this point onwards but we can't guarantee spaces on all activities.

I can also now formally say that we will be subsidising the cost of both the Sat night Herm BBQ as well as the Sun night Fish Feast (courtesy of Foxfish). There will be a nominal fee for both nights (around £10) but we wanted to sponsor both nights.

We also have some diving companies sponsoring prizes and goodies for everyone coming so expect goodie bags!

I'll be on island with Smurfette from Thursday afternoon so those wanting to meet up and have a beverage i'll be happy to oblige!

What we need now is for everyone involved to cross fingers and everything else to ensure - Sun, Calm seas, Big fish & Smiley faces :friday

Hi,

R u able to post whose now signed up 4 Guernsey and which events they are doing?

Mike,

We'll get something out later today. We are also working on the final timetable for the weekend. More due later!

Nice one Stephan - very generous indeed.
After spending 3 hours in 13.5 deg water yesterday I'm so looking forward to this - it will be warmer in Guernsey won't it??

I have lost track of who is actually here on Thursday the 2nd of August?
Stephan & Vicky, Yeti ...anyone else

Just look at those water temperatures... if anyone decides they don't want a nice weekend of spishing, let me know, I got 1870 trees need cutting, sorting and bundling...

OK Mike we are getting there but these things are definitely worth discussing.

Lets set some min weights for the suggested fish ....

Bass. 2.5lb
Flatfish 1.5lb
Bream 1.0
Gurnard 1.0
Mullet 2.5
Pollock 2.0
Mackerel 8oz
Excluding wrasse & conger but including lobster 1.5lb scallops & crabs 2lb

Anyone want to add or suggest fish please do so.....

I have been asked about different species of mullet but to be honest I want to count Golden Grey mullet & thick lipped mullet as the same!
In other words if you happen to spear a GG & a TL they wont count as two different species.
It is simply to difficult to tell the differance with some fish & I just don't want to get in that situation.
However with the bream I think we can add Gilthead, couches, & white as individual species..
The same with flatfish...
So now we have

Bass. 2.5lb
plaice 1.5lb
Sole 1.5lb
Turbot 2.5lb
Brill 2.0lb
bream black 1.0
Couchs 1.0
gilthead 1.5
red mullet 1.0
trigger fish 1.0
Gurnard 1.0
Mullet 2.5
Pollock 2.0
Mackerel 8oz
Long nose 8oz

Any one want to add to the list?
