Viz report for today is........Bloom! All the way from the surface to 46m down was about 3m at most. The winds are dropping for the weekend and the sun is (hopefully) coming out.

Went to Fort Bovisand to check out the vis etc ... not great 2-3 metres, I will probably launch my kayak from the harbour about 9 sunday morning , will try diving for a while but if no luck will take rod a reel and hope to catch a few mackerel , but will bring sausages for the barbecue just in case !!!!!! Terry....

Well good luck anyway guys - it not all about catching fish & besides Trelawney might bring some deep water scallop for the BBQ!

I only have 12 scallops! We misjudged the tide by 15 minutes and were whipped along at about 3 knots at the bottom of the shipping lane. There are only so many you can grab 'n' bag working by torchlight in that current :duh.
We might drop in to the bay on the way to the BBQ to have a rummage for some more.

I'll launch from Bovi as well if I can park up somewhere close. Orange kayak VHF call sign Charlie Romeo.

CR

Drive right down to the Harbour and you can park there, easy launching at high tide but not ideal coming out at low , but most places are like that though !!! Terry.... ( blue kayak , white paddle blades , no VHF , no fish !!! )

If you head to the Mewstone at about 10:30, you'll find Team CRAP somewhere there, between the island and the shore. Look for a yellow and red Rob Allen float and that will be us.

If you feel a bump on the way back to Mountbatten it might be me !!! Terry!!!

Seems the weather is on your side lads,

Hope you all have a great day, hopefully il be at the next meeting.. Really can't trust the car to do a 200mile+ drive otherwise I would have joined all that's going.

Happy hunting..

Luke.

Sounds good, what time are people aiming to gather on the beach? About 1500?

Hi All,
I'll be headed to the beach a little earlier as I am bringing the next generation of Spearos with me! Look out for some enthusiastic netters! Family Tribs will be leaving Budleigh Salterton @ 13:30.

See you there.

Hi All,

Nice to see some faces I knew and meet some I didn't! Family Tribs had a great time and we were all sorry we had to leave early. Is it unfathomable that we could not arrange another BBQ before Summer leaves us, preferably when I don't have relatives arriving? It would be good And i would would happily host it up this way.
Thanks Chris for organising this one.

Cheers all

Tribs - turns out I just missed you and walked straight past. I was the bloke with 4 kids about to go down to the beach as you left (your kids had nets?!) Shame - next time.

Shame could not do more than turn up and say hello - glad to have met those of you who were there even if half my attention was on my little tribe.

Shiny and Mirror - would have liked to have had more of a chin wag with you guys and would be keen to meet up for a dive at some point. Good to see you nonetheless.

(For the avoidance of confusion - I don't actually have an ASBO!!);)

Hey guys, came down to Plymouth and launched out of Mountbatton on Saturday hit a couple of spots in and offshore, not a great deal seen or caught bar a couple if bass, wrasse and some small pollock. Bloom was thick and after a lot of uming and arring we shipped out early this morning and headed closer to home trying to find some better viz, needless to say we didn't succeed. Hope the BBQ was a success, maybe catch you at the next one!

Nice to meet you on Saturday Mirror.

All the best Kev
