Good plan. I was also constrained by relatives as my parents went away leaving me with responsibility for my 93 year old granny who doesn't like BBQ's

Nice to have met you guys yesterday, putting faces to names !! Amazingly I was the only one who caught a fish (see pic ) 4lb mullet , so I will not have to post the trophy now !!! Weather was great , Vis was pretty poor and I paddled out to the Mewstone where I found approx 3 metres vis . Hello to the Picasso lads I was hoping you would turn up at the BBQ as I would have liked to check out your gear !!!! Dai , I do not really think you had an ASBO !!! Tribs , shame you could not get in on this occasion but if you have an event up your way I will come along . Shiny, good to have met a local legend and keep posting !!! please !!! Terry....

The weather couldn't have been better for the BBQ really, apart from the northerly wind. Team CRAP got in the water to find lots of alge bloom, but also found some clearer patches of viz up to 5m. We only saw a few wrasse, small pollock and no lobsters.
It was good to meet out resident woodwork artist, Terry (Mirror) who had the only fish of the day, the family Tribs, and Nick (Shiny1).
Once the bloom clears and the weather gets warmer, I think another BBQ might be in order.

Sounds like you had a good get-together.
Really hope that we can have another chance to meet in the summer as I couldn’t make it this time, I was working and revising for exams

It will probably be better on the front of the breakwater. There are two wrecks to find there, and the remains of a Lancaster bomber.

Diving wrecks is something I am really interested in doing and maybe a few fish as well.

Exams are over on the 5th so hopefully I’ll be getting in the water loads more after that and a few trips back to Cornwall are in order over the summer.

Jake
