Not calling you anything Wolf Diver but do you have a picture of the fish next to a rule or on a set of scales?????

Personally i would be too embaressed or ashamed to post pictures of Tesco sized bass on a public forum.

Except in cornwall, where it is 37.5.

I'm with Glowworm here, but then I'm known for my stance on small fish / images of hull loads etc, as certain Italian and French members know. That line about 'poor viz'.....:head
Can someone give me a bit of advice? I'm currently using military split fins to spearfish (only because I have them for diving) and was wondering is there a big advantage to using long freediving/spearfishing fins? If so what are the best ones to get.

Thanks for the advice.Gaz D just checked my charts and tide stream book, The area has depths as shallow as 3.5m On the biggest spring tide. you should spearo on a good neaps giving you more time before the tide runs again, you need to fish between 3hrs and 2hrs before high tide where you will get 0.1 knts of tide approx. Neaps will add more depth to the chart depth and including you depth of water at 3/2 hours before HT will give you around 6m of water below you. Shelter from the swell and wind behind the bank which give you boat best cover. If you need gps numbers give me a shout, when in doubt dont stay there.

The two smaller fish are within the Legal 36cm,37cm or bsa 40cm limits, dont give a sh*t what you think!!!
I do not want to be part of a witch hunt or be personal but opinions run high over pictures. I have said before on the forum I have been told you are good people.
Maybe be will dive together one day could be on the SS JolLy Rogers.
I have very strong views on taking certain species and size limits. Just ask my regular dive partners.

I'm very sad to see such a silly argument on these forums. There are bound to be disagreements, but usually these are dealt with sensitively and sensitively. I used to live on a boat and stopped using the boat-related forums because people on them were really rude to each other and got silly about little disagreements like this one.
I'm sure most of us (certainly me included) have taken the odd small fish before now, but most of us are equally concerned about the welfare of marine life and therefore care enough to do our best to only take fish of a reasonable size.
So I say good on you Wolf Diver, keep spearing and keep us updated with your catch - I'm always on the lookout for more inspiration! Please let's not get petty about things, this forum's usually such a friendly and helpful one.

Surely hitting the big bass/prolific breaders does more damage to the fish stocks than a couple of smaller and legal ones.
