How was the weather/visibility today? Any thoughts on conditions tomorrow? It's pretty windy here right now, and couple of weather sites are predicting heavy rain around 7am (BBC) / 6am-9pm (TWC - with "50% probability"
).
Ooh, this one for Poole looks worse, heavy rain am-1pm.
Just started raining here now too...oh well

BTW re. mullet (seems to be what I see most these days), I try to deal with them quickly these day. Pull them in, make sure the flopper/barb is fully open, turn them upside down (seems to subdue them), then grip them through the gills & dispatch. Your mileage may vary...

Highlander, he was still twitching a bit so I dispatched him by breaking the blood line. Better safe than sorry plus less suffering for mr bass.

I’ve just got back from the Caribbean so just catching up.
Here’s a picture of a 5foot long something with a set of teeth to match its attitude, sorry the picture isn’t better but it came straight at me and all I had was the camera, ssoooo fast in the water I dam near s**t myself.

I don’t reckon that it ever creeps anywhere mate, the thing had NO fear, even with me there waving around with air bubbles coming out of everywhere...!:crutch:blackeyeroflrofl
Out today with Cesar, we thought an early start would be good, so off we headed to RIngstead.
Seems like we had a north westerly so hopefully protected & a rising tide.
Got in about 8.30-ish & looked fairly calm, so headed over to the reef, it then stated to get a bit swelly(is that a word?), the vis was absolute pants, about 2m more or less.
Did I see any fish apart from the usual Wrasse? Not a sausage.
I might set up a new thread entitled Dorset Sausage Fishing.
Spent about 2 and a half hours out there & nothing, Cesar didn't get anything, didn't see anything.
Oh yes £5 parking, to come back with nothing arrghh.
Maybe the coming week will be more fruitful, well actually fishful, I am probably more accurate with fruitfull.
Anyway, happy sausaging .

The weekend is coming young-un and the boat is calling, as long as you take the pills that isroflrofl
I've been very busy since Thursday until Sunday - spent 25 hrs in the waters visiting 8 of my favorite sites in days and nights. I dove LC, Mupe Rocks, Worbarrow Tout, St. Aldhems Head (West side and I missed there 2 x 70cm Bass), Kimmeridge Bay, and three others I don't know names. Visibility was OK! from 3 up to 7m - but very poor result - only 2 Bass, 3 small, 40cm Mullets and 3kg of lobsters all together. Were is all the fish gone? I haven't seen much more then I speared. Only few Wrasse and small pollocks. Is it true about dolphins? Are the beast the reason?

There's lots of ideas on this one but the two that I have found to be the best by far are:
1. Go at night
2. Grab them
That's right! In dark time you can pick them up like mushrooms in New Forest.

I know that there were dolphins along the Dorset coast but is it possible that small band of them can couse lack of fish for us? Or we should blame the weather or something else?
Yes, I use the boat (Fletcher with 75HP Mercury) or small inflatable (with 3.5HP Tohatsu).
