I have been out and about over the bank holiday and cannot believe the damage done to the coastline. I guess a combination of the high tides/bad weather and the crazy amount of rain. Lots of landslides and on one beach that used to be totally pebbly its now sand.

About best vis at the moment seems to be the fleet, but wind should be calming a bit tonight and changing direction so harbour and or chesil cove may pick up a bit.

Vis down at Portland Harbour this morning looking better 3-4m. Nothing seen apart from a big old ray who was so friendly it felt wrong to stick him.

Had a 4 hour dive with lee last night somewhere on the jurassic coast! viz 1-3 m within a couple of minutes came across 2 bass, got a shot off and just missed the bigger of the two, then seen lots of extremely skittish small mullet which kept me amused for a bit, onwards to another section and i had a distinct fishy gut feeling working the area I came across a mammoth bass this thing was a monster and a definite double!! started to follow and with the patchy viz I was forced to get a shot off and missed!!!!! Will be revisiting the mark again shortly!

Alan and I took a chance on a new spot last night, good old hike, but some nice fish seen.

As Alan said; he missed a nice double figure bass....I heard a 'boom' then a massive really deep thick bass came hurtling towards me! I estimate tbe fish was 11-12lb; it was huge.

5 minutes later over a reef I was scanning from left to right with the torch beam when suddenly as I looked to my right......There was another slightly smaller bass of 8-9lb almost sat on my shoulder, I pulled back and took a startled panic shot and missed grrrrrr

Anyway, I ended up taking 1 mullet. We cud have taken loads of mullet.....but donkey bass were on the menu.

Oh and we made a special ticket for free overnight camping.
