The best torch at the moment (in mine and a lot of others opinions) is the 'new' xtar DO6, on the tin I think it's 850 lm output; however it is way brigter than other torches I own that are rated to 1800 lm.

The Do6 coupled with a high quality battery is hard to beat for the needs of the spearfisher.

Around 50-60 quid in a case with mains/car charger and high quality xtar (panasonic) battery. If u look back through this thread there is a link to buy one...very fast delivery.

Just recovered form illness and before that the weather had been poo so not been in for a dogs age! So will be getting on Friday night. However tides are crap for night dives over the weekend. Im keen but not keen enough to get out of bed in the wee small hours to hit the high tide! Any suggestions for a dive from the low (2100ish i think) up to the high? Somewhere around Portland area??

I would get to durdle door very first thing because it will be crammed with people on the beach and in the water with the weather as nice as it is!

Jumped in under Bmth pier last night. Viz was incredible. Nothing big seen but huge groups of sandeels and numerous other bait fish. The legs of the pier were literally moving with spider crabs!

I had trouble with air trapped in my suit, i noticed it also last year. Is this because im putting it on like an idiot??

Lovely and flat today, nothing taken but I found some nice ledges that I shall definitely be keeping an eye on !

Little bit annoying considering the conditions I was having a bit of trouble equalising one of my ears - hope not too have the same problem tomorrow

Yesterday Vis around Portland yesterday was 12m+ and it stayed like that all day off the bill. Further up the east side tho and all the way to Ringstead the vis dropped dramatically with the tide, to about 4m but very milky. After the tide changed durdle door was around 1m and very chalky
