Dorset Spearfishing 2013

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 90 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
I am looking to come down to somewhere between Swanage and Portland tomorrow. Looking at the Swanage lifeboat webcam it doesn't look to good.
Can anyone give me a vis report and let me know if it is worth the journey.
Many thanks in advance.

I wanted to do a night dive tomorrow, my buddies cannot make it, i don't want to do a night dive solo, if any of you guys is interested please send me PM , i can be available from 3 pm if suits you as I am on holidays!!
Ppj it looks like chesil cove could be ok according to late viz reports and you could be lucky and find a big shark too!!
Kind regards
Cesar

Don't know, but I am looking to go out on a night dive tonight. So will look at updating tomorrow wherever I go. Not really holding much hope, but if the vis is poor, then night is probably better(correct me if I am wrong)..........

Where are you planning on going tonight and what time. I'm travelling back from Colchester in abit and might be interested in a dip.

Very windy at Southbourne at the moment (forecast to ease off later).

The sea is stirred up and the vis does not look good. I am hoping to get in this weekend not sure where.. may get on the chain ferry and head west.

I've made a number of changes to my kit so want to try things out (including the best divers torch holder you suggested Highlander).

You will not regret it, simple but effective piece of kit. Just don't forget to pass the torch lanyard through the holder & around your arm as well for added security.

Just got out of Portland Harbour near Sandsfoot & had just over 1m vis for the most of it apart from going round the corner beneath the castle & opened up to about 2-3m, but with quite a small area.
