Your not kidding about the fillets. Fillets was 2-3" thick. I hav just eaten half of it with my boys. They dont like no fuss with there fish so it was new potatoes runner beans and bass fillet for dinner. Fillets was cut up into 4 as they was huge ! Then seasoned with salt and black peper left for an hour then a dribble of lemon juce from a fresh lemon quartered then cooked in foil in oven with a slice of lemon wrapped in the foil with fillets. Super easy but
Real tastey . Kids love it this way and in all honesty if they love nice healthy food like this then im on to a winner as trying to get some kids to eat more healthy food can b tricky. Boys r 7,5 and 2 years old.

Im interested in how you achieve so much success. Would you share your secrets such as what time of the tide do you hit at night? What depth are you finding the fish? How good do you need the vizability to be, What length of gun is best? I would love to spear at night but live a two hour drive to Dorset and worry about diving on my own at night. How safe is it?

Alright buddy first off if u worry about diving alone at night then buddy up first. Nerves need to b ovacome b4 u even think about it. I dont recomend diving alone mind but i know plenty of us do. Time . Basicly about an hour after dark things come to life. Tide dont really matter but flooding tide is best in r boys eyes. Depth 1ft -5,6,7 ,8,9,10 m all depending on spot and viz. The best thing of night diving it can b done in pretty crap viz. 1m is fishable but still not as good as having a few m viz. Gun. I use a carbon 55cm banded gun . Lee uses his picasso gun and a 55cm pump gun. Alan uses a70cm pump gun. 70cm pump gun is same length as a 55banded but more range and way more powerful. I also use a hawian sling pole spear . Quick reload silent shooting ect. Shame i didnt use my polespear for my bass . That would hav been awsome. Hope this helps mate.
As for how safe is it. Well no diving is really safe. I would say check spot out b4 u go there plan entry and exit b4 u get in ect. Tide can b dodge at night so steae clear if u dont know where u will end up. Not teaching u to suck eggs but just thinking of your own saftey while giving advise.
Nobby thanks very much. I think I will give it a go. I tried once before just as it got to dusk but I had been in ages and was knackered. Ill be in Cornwall in July so think Ill try then as I wont have the long drive home then and know the area well. What depth was that big bass you shot?
Hi guys, nice couple of fish you two got there, not too jealous.... Honest! I'm working down in Poole for the next couple of weeks and was hoping to pop over to Dorset for a dive or 2. Sussex hasn't been too successful for us eastern boys this year, but desperate to get in the water, but I'm guessing this wind will be blowing any chances of a dive out the window for this weekend. Anyone know of any sheltered spots and anyone keen for a dive?
A plea for help. Im coming down to Dorset next weekend with a couple of mates, one of whom wants to get in the water with me. He ordered a 5mm 2 piece cressi suit via the net ages ago but the company managed to screw the first order up and have now sent the wrong size. By the time the mess is sorted out its going to be too late as we will be down with you guys. So is anyone looking to get rid of a second hand suit or know of anyone looking to do likewise (he would be a large at a guess). Suspect he will be a tad cold if he tries it in his 3mm one peice!

Wish I could help with vis but I predict 1m given the weather, I am on Cambridge at the minute though!
Long shot I know but I might be on the lookout for some storage space (boat and trailer) in the near future anyone know of a drive barn field or similar going begging? Preferably somewhere between Piddlehinton and the sailing academy. Running the figures on the possible boat purchase and refuse to believe WPNSA is my only option. While perfectly affordable something cheaper would be nice!

The actual morrings f £50 mate. My mate has a boat on 1 and its far from a tender. Its a big boat with a cuddy on it. I will get details off of him mon then get in touch. As for the trailer mate i aint got a clue but will keep ear to the ground and let u know if i hear anythin.
