F.I.T. vs. Performance Freediving

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 90 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
I'm glad youv'e have shown you true colors you wouldn't last 5mins in my shoes
Apnea Queen, we are going off topic, but perhaps you could share your experience (i mean the one with changing sex, not the one with Martin Stepanek) with the member Deepdive who searched for info exactly on this topic and nobody really gave him any useful advice. Look at it in this thread: http://forums.deeperblue.com/general-freediving/77063-using-hormones-freediving.html

As for your issues with FIT - I really believe you should post the details, so that we all can judge for ourselves, and that Paul Kotik or Martin Stepanek (or anyone else from FIT) have the chance to comment on it (if they decide doing so). By hiding the facts, it sounds more like a slander, which is hard to defend against. I believe you that you had negative experience with them, but when you voiced it, you should disclose all the details, so that we can make up our opinion too.

All I'll say (for what it's worth) is that I greatly valued and enjoyed my experience with FIT. False gods they are not, just humans with a great deal of knowledge about freediving.

Which, you can only do in so many ways. All the instructors I've been with (my self included) pretty much teach the same things the same way save for a few variations. But we all prepare, breath up, duck dive, descent, ascent and recover. It's pretty pointless to try to patent these ideas. How much of FIT curriculum is directly from PFI and how much of PFI curriculum is directly by Martin I truly have absolutely no competence to evaluate. And I'd venture a guess that neither have any in this discussion - if even the persons involved in the split them selves do (at least objectively speaking).

I'm in no way defending any wrong doings of their part to anyone. If they really did that, shame on them. But this was my experience.

Lets change the post i'm bored of this. I'm unsubscribing, when my two free courses come please PM me. cheers in advance Martin and Mandy

I have to leave now because some old memories have surfaced. I had a bad experience with Kool-aid once, stop drinking it you fools, i dont really want to talk about it but obviously it was not my fault in any way because im perfect and only other people can be wrong. I have since started drinking Lucozade and since then i feel much better about myself.

The extra energy has caused me to start writing random comments/quotes on forums that only i truly understand because unlike Kool-aid Lucozade makes you super intelligent, some say intelligence can be in someway inferred by being slightly obscure but i just think im super clever now.

Byeeee, see you out in the blue xxxxx

You know your history, laddy. Remember when the canadians tried to sabotage the soo locks with maple syrup? carp were actually knocking cars off the bridge. Had some awesome wet T-shirt contests though.

Then there was the great toilet paper boycott of '67 - they were going to boycott everything shipped through the lower peninsula but Wisconsin and Canadia couldn't keep up with the beer so they just quit using Toilet paper.
I know it had something to do with project ELF (or was it ALF?) Anyway, definite negative effect on tourism.

ugh i go away for a week, and theres talks of kool-aid vs lucozade.. (go powerade you nuts)... AND we have a hooters girl in our midst!!!

mm and maple syrup and wet t-shirts...
what a welcome back this has been :)

Not to get this topic back on track or anything, but I've posted on my blog about PFI's Intermediate and Advanced courses. My only experience with DiveFIT had been that I signed up for their intermediate course in Malibu last year, which was canceled with a month's warning because not enough people paid their deposit. Kirk, Mandy and Craig at PFI were wonderful to train with; I achieved my goals and then some, and am now thoroughly addicted to the sport. 5:45 static, 42m constant; woohoo!

I second that Ben ,I'm still floating on the goal reaching high all our class had in Kona.I'm looking forward to getting back to raise my personal bests again.Still a few spots left for those seeking to celebrate Thanksgiving early, and if this trip goes like the last I'll truly have another thing to be thankful for.Great job on the blog!! Enjoyed the blog. Sure wish that PFI would have a day off in the middle so the poor locals could spend some time with the Deeperbluers. All these divers come to visit and they're kept so busy. I actually took the course last Nov but most days I could barely drag my old butt home and collapse.

Well, I think both of these programs are very good, either way your going to walk away with lots of new knowledge. For me because i live in south florida FIT is ideal for me, I am a big fan of Martin, I enjoy his philosophy.
I am actually tring to get money together to take this course.
:)
