It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
Don't want to get too dehydrated for diving by drinking too much.

Check you PM box, I answered that wetsuit question for you.

So your going to show us all why your nickname at work is Ted the "fish".;)

Hey Jon, does Gert have that stuff you mentioned to me at his shop, or would i have to buy online. I could get all of it for under 300, but shipping is huge.

You wish you could come to Wisconsin? Wow, i haven't heard that much before :) I can't wait until i can get out.

skarz,
tell your folks to load up the tent and bring 'em along. have 'em bring their mask and snorkels, and quarters (there's a casino only a mile or two away) - myself, I don't enjoy the casinos - too much smoke. get 'em on the board here to see what great people we are.. this will be the time to give freediving a go in the midwest, there will be a lot of experienced divers there along with the not so experienced. I think it's great that your looking at a sport like this and begging the folks to let you go.. it's a lot different than me being 16 or so and begging my folks to let me go to Woodstock :D

Hahhaha, i'm into the punk deal :) Sex pistols, Violent Femmes, the Ramones........ Oh yea. My dad snorkels, no diving, and my mom rarely goes in the water. They say im too young to stay alone with ppl i dont know, she said i can go when im 18! I'll find it one way or another, but i need a wetsuit and fins first. Right now i need a new guitar, that's a big chunk of money.

GOD SAVE THE QUEEN

How's it looking at this point from a planning standpoint? Any news?

Hahhaha, i'm into the punk deal.....

:head Skarz, do a google search on Woodstock and then double check your dates on the start of the whole Punk Rock rebellion.;)

Aaron,

As far as news goes here's the latest:

We will meet on Saturday, the 24th, at 9 am by the South boat launch. then again on Sunday, the 25th, at 9 am by the North launch. Fred will get there on Thursday to set up camp and Ted and I will get there sometime on Friday.

Jyri, from SpecialFins, has sent us some pairs of fins to try and Mark, from OMER, is planning on sending up his own bag of goodies for all to try- a big thanks goes out to both of them!!

Between Fred, Ted, a few of my other buddies, and I we will be able to give everyone the chance to try out all kinds of stuff. All we need now is for someone to send us a pair of FLUID GOGGLES to demo- hint, hint.;)

We will also have about a half dozen different dive kayaks and surfskis to try as well as a few spearguns to demo on the target range- thanks to Don for that suggestion.

YOW, fellas,
And I gotta miss it!!! It's on my BIRTHDAY, too--Thursday, July 22--WAAAAGGGHHHHH!!!
Water Rat--Sniffin' the Tears--:(

Too bad Water Rat mine is on the 23rd!

Haha, i didn't know old people could hold their breathe that long ;). Big one-five for me :). Hey Jon, i don't think i'll be able to make it this year, but i'm diving in Pearl Lake the same weekend, that will rock because it's good vis. I broke my personal best on the 4th of July (with no fins). I got 33 ft. with half my toes broken, i was happy. I still suck at equalizing, that Valselva technique doesn't work. Hope you guys have fun, and i hope there's a good turn out, because i want this to be an Annual Wisconsin thing! Good luck guys.

Looks like I'm not going to be able to make it either... But I want pictures of the event! If t-shirts are made, still count me in for one or two.

I'm gonna miss not being there! Have fun gang!

Just got an Email back from Mark L. and he's sending up some demo wetsuits and a pair of C4- 80's for us to try, I've already got some 40's and a pair of 30's to add to this demo selection.

Jyri has sent two pairs of fins to demo- a pair of Kelpies and a pair of Classics. Add to this my SpecialFins monofin and Ted's pair of Pro's and we have a pretty good selection of those fins as well- just need a pair of Hybrids to try .

I have also started working on the local Aqualung rep to see if he can snag us a couple of Sphera's to give away as prizes, as well as demo some of those Aquasphere winter triatholon suits for summer freediving. Not sure if that one will pan out or not, but we still have a couple of weeks to see.

Dive Kayaks, and surfskis, will be well represented and I believe we now have everything worked out for our underwater shooting range.

Just want to give a big thanks to Jyri and Mark for the loan of the toys, and to Fred for getting up there early to reserve some group camping sites for the rest of us.:D

Jon

Jon,

don't forget to keep me in the loop. we will want photos and and article :D If you ask nicely I might even send a few Tee's your way as well!

Thanks Stephan! Check your P.M. box.

I also want to give out a big thanks to the Sultan himself. Although he can't make it to Freedive-A- Palooza, like he originally planned, he has still decided to send us his own Special Fin's Hybrids for all of us to try- with a substantial bounty on the head of anyone who scratches them.;)

I think that we should have a pretty well rounded assortment of gear for everyone to try, all we need now are a pair of FLUID GOGGLES to complete the selection- hint, hint.;)

No probs, folks. Like I said to Jon, I hear of anyone using them to dig the rig outta the ditch after an allnighter at the local adult enclave, whilst working on their lap dance statics, I'm going to be mightily miffed.

Same goes for my open heel Esclapaz motors. :inlove

I'm as miffed to not be able to attend, but work, finances and all crashed as the dates to get the tickets got near. Best wishes to all and give the Tedski a long, slow one from me.
