Cold, dark and a nasty little swell but good tide, up to 15 foot vis in the deeper water and still a few fish about :).

Dave

PS merry Christmas Guern's.

We've had a few calm days lately but I wouldn't have thought conditions would have been much good yesterday.Well done for proving otherwise Dave!

(See my post on the 'Happy Christmas from Foxfish" thread )

Well Done Dave! Brave Man!

Merry Christmas to everybody in Guernsey, hope you all have a brilliant Christmas and look forward to hopefully catching up again next year!

Good luck Jonny, I'd come but I've broken my wrist. Going down to Saints this afternoon with the rods I'll leave some fish for you. It was last Christmas eve that I got a 7.5lb bass down there so here's hoping!

Merry Christmas to all!!

Sorry about your wrist Grob, hope you caught something anyway.

I ended up down at cobo - as there was still quite a bit of swell around and didnt want a wasted trip 'down south'.
Vis was adequate - around 2-3m but reduced on the way in as the tide turned - half the length of the gun! still i managed somehow to harpoon a small bass around 3lbs and saw another flashing past.
water is still not cold (12 degrees on the D3).
i have a compass fitted on the gun now - makes things a million times easier when the water is so cloudy.
I chatted to a dangler on the beach who had a couple of bass from small lug strung on a hook.

Good pic Jonny...pity about the subject!
However you did find (and catch) and find your way back in.
You'll be needing less lead with all that hardware!
My fish-finding compass leads me unerringly into a particular section of Checkers!!!ll
Well done!

Well I found myself way down west last night, I meet up with a few mates for our annual door to door carol singing & drinks after night.
What a horrible night weather wise, the rain was pouring, the wind howling but we drudged on into the dark night with our song sheets sealed inside plastic bags.
The weather got so bad at one stage we could hardly see (even my LED dive torch let water in) Anyhow with wellies full of water & after a long wet walk we knocked on this big blue door & gave a couple of verses of "silent night".
This chap came to the door & in the rain & wind listened to our voices.
Nice chap dressed in yellow oil skins gave us £50 & said it really made his Christmas & said how grateful he was to have us make such an effort on a night like this. He also mentioned that they don't get many carol singers on the Hanois

This zoom-lens pic proves your story Mart...though I didn't spot the £50!

Nice Pic Jonny.

Looks like it willl be nice and calm tomorrow morning and low water at 11:30, so if I can't ski will have a lobster hunt at Rocquaine followed by champagne and home smoked (of course) salmon and mackerel in the hot tub.

Eaten in the hot tub that is - NOT smoked in the hot tub. Its my only chance to get in warm clear water!!!

Happy Christmas Everybody and a CLEAR 2010!!

They canceled it due to lack of interest.
