If you're going to Brittany try to go visit Scubaland in Brest, it's easy to find, chock full of spearing gear and they're very freindly and would no doubt have all the info you needed about spearing down that way.

And while you're there go have a look around Oceanopolis which is just down the road.

The marina in carteret has regulations in a case - I don't know if other places do. I can find a copy if you want - all in French of course!

You need to have a license , they have very strict rules in France for spear fishing make sure you no the rule and regulation from les affaire maritime if you get caught breaking the rules you would bee sorry this is the link you need for all the information you need any problem just ask i hope this help

Ed has had mackerel, Foxfish has had longnose, and me I've had both ;-)

I'm sure others have had too, OMD must have, but that's the ones I remember for sure.

Thanks for the encouragement on the vid chaps. Tom that's a nice photo with the mack, nice gun too - is that yours or ed's?
I'm impressed by you all shooting the macks, i cant even catch them on a rod! gonna start making an effort now tho! lol

Forecast says force 2-3, low water @ 15:30 So I’ve taken the afternoon off. Not sure where to try , inner reefs and weed beds northern end L’Eree might be sheltered, s’pose I should try up NE with the wind, but can’t be arsed to drive that far!

Went NE last weekend and viz was average to poor and saw no fish of any note.

That's my old Effesub Jonny, was a lovely gun but the wooden barrel got bent somehow and I couldn't straighten it so it's now donated it's handle to my Triaxx.

I did, mate of mine has just got the gear so wanted a lesson. Took him to the jap weed inside the knife for his first go as I knew it looked nice. Viz was ok, better than expected with the recent westerlies actually, loads of rockies, a few mullet, some longnose and a couple of small bass, one of which came home with me.

The newbie loved it too.

Managed to get in over the low and had a good 3hr swm nearly made lihou! The tide had turned though and didnt want to get caught out.

saw loads of rockies inc some biggies but dissapointing only a couple of small bass and i took home a mid size mullet.

I am so unfit though and was suffering with really bad foot cramps. If the wind holds off I might try again today.
