I know what sea anemones feel like. But I don't know specifically about whether jewel anemones (specifically those of Gouliot Cave) feel any different than others. What's it like to touch them when they're in the water. What about when they're in the air? I've found pictures and species description, but that only tells some of the story. Any other details I should know about them in those two states?

All the anemones i can think of are pretty much the same in that they feel soft to the touch & sting sensitive skin!
Mt niece tried to eat a snakelock once & was badly stung on the lips!

thanks Tom; have you seen much in the way of fish in that gulley when you've been there?

I did a bit of a crazy thing this morning & went in around the island!
It looked a bit rough so I walked across the causeway & went in on the right of Homptole.
The point was I needed lobster for a party tonight, I found them too!
One really nice one & two small ones.
I will post a pic later as I have food to prepare now.....

Nice catch! Lobbie hunting is an art, and possibly more addictive than fishing for me. Very jealous

ooops, sorry about that, forgot to reply. At this point in time i'm not sure. It all depends if I can get time off and get over. Its unlikely but will try and see what I can do as I quite fancy a weekend of diving, Roquets and good company.

Quick dive last night - in for 40 mins and saw loads.... alot of bass (just looking, no gun as I had company), cuttlefish, spidercrabs, pollock, a massive cabou type fish (about as long as a sheet of A4 to use international measurements...), dover sole.
Good dive.

Ah the good old international measurement scale, a grain of salt, a marble, A4 paper, a cricket pitch, an olympic swimming pool, a football pitch, the Albert Hall.
