Just got out of the water, vis was ok(ish) although I saw diddly squat, and was in the water for over 2 hours. Used the float Jonny, went and picked up some line straight after and it worked perfectly. So bloody useful. Thanks alot!

I have got a basic 75 that needs new bands but you can have it for £20 if you want to pop around on Sat morning?
I have had a full day of fishing & diving today, out in the boat this morning & spearfishing this evening.
Some mackerel, bream & pollock in the boat & another smallish bass spearing.
I went in by the islands but the vis was really bad today, maybe only 10-12'
I did see four bass all around the same size, a few stinky mullet & a few wrasse but no sandeels or rosselet today!

thats brilliant ill be round at about midday if thats ok with you? is it easy to get hold of a camera bracket for it to fit the camera? not a bad haul today then

sorry i couldnt join you for the fishing, but next time...i did manage to sneak out this evening after work jobs and took the kayak out to my favourite tide race. I bumped into mr seal - on video, but you wouldnt know it as the vis was about 2m.
there were also porbeagles around but i didnt see them, one of the local fishermen said he spotted one near me!
I did manage a nice bass, went 5lb 7oz. I think we are 'bassed out' now after last weekends efforts too!!!
Ricko you can make a camera mount quite easily using some aluminium from b&q. the hardest part is making the connection but if you have a thread on the camera housing then that will do it.
Hey guys mac again still struggling to shoot anything , I've taken all the advise onboard that I was kindly given but yet to shoot anything , please could some one refer me to a mark where there plenty mullet and a chance of a bass , many thanks and kind regards mac
You wont struggle for mullet around the shallows at bordeaux. Good chance of bass too a little further out. Be careful of the tides and don't go behind the furthest rocks within reasonable swimming distance unless you really know what you are doing and are with a buddy.
Jason, I think we have told you all you need to know about getting started, you just have to keep trying - like riding a bike or catching the bus - it will come good if you just have patience & keep at it mate....

mac you will find the fish in the bays and until you have got comfortable with your fins [have you got some yet?] then i think best to keep away from the tide. my suggestion would be any of the bays at low to half tide in close to the shore for mullet. the most important thing is to work on trying to be nice and quiet. If you use your time with J to work on breathhold and bottom time/relax, then you will be better set for next season...
If you are desperate to see fish, try the bootlace forest at L'Eree, about halfway along down a slip where the boats are, something du Moulin it's called I think, neap mid tide, allsorts in there including bream and bass. It's fairly safe and not much tide there.
Yeah if you are going anywhere near tide fins are a must. This may be part of your problem. Kicking without fins is going to be loud and you will cover less ground so less chance of seeing anything.
There is always mullet in the bay around the boats (especially on the left hand side) at bordeaux at mid tide to high tide. As long as you don't go out past the tommy rock you are safe in there with no fins. Just park in the carpark by the old tip and get in from that side and dont go out of the main bay.

Im after a little info please. I'm trying to plan a spearing trip to somewhere warmer. I was wondering how you all get your kit to Guernsey. I'm hoping to fly as I dont fancy the drive. Do the airline (auringy I was thinking) have any issues with you taking spearguns and knifes.
