With my last two masks I had fogging issues. I tried the toothpaste method and lighter trick but it often still fogged.

I starting using anti fog spray which works well. Spit works also but I often have a dry mouth.

My anti fog spray ran out last week, I refilled it with Johnson's Baby Shampoo + little bit of water and it works just as well. I keep the spray on a flexible leash on my float so it's easy to get to. Over a 5 hour session the other day I sprayed my mask 3 times. I won't go in the water without it.

As foxfish said, you can use an unloaded gun for flatties; alternatively i now carry a stringer with a slightly longer length of mono - enough for a wrap around the waist [belt attachment] and then an arm length. i sharpen my stringer so it is pretty lethal and carry it in a 6mm tube attached to the belt. this way the fish go straight on the stringer.

Look it up online but as far as I understand in principle you burn off the residue on the inside of the glass often left after its manufacture. Nice one buddy, I'd never heard of that before - I'll give it a bash and see if it works!

Then every time I dive I clean lens with Sea drops anti fog at home, then when entering water spit and quick thumb rub, rinse then with sea water

I've tooth-pasted it about 4 times now and have always spat in it pre-dive - the anti-fog seems like a good plan. I'll get some!

Do post up how you get on with the mask, I'd be interested to know! Also, mine's got an obvious spelling mistake printed on the neoprene strap, I wonder if yours will have it as well?

Wow jonny that plaice was a tank! Will be in the water this weekend trying a new spot looking for tasty treats, will see if the advice pays off.

Went for a serious mooch down a new prospective lobster spot on the west coast. Loads of small lobsters around, found a couple of good berried females which were put back, and also a number of good keepers (lobster for tea and lobster mayo and balsamic glaze sarnies for lunch )

In exploring cricks, caves and boulders I did however also find a dozen or so congers which were all left well alone. A couple even had tasty clawed flatmates (took a bit of nerve getting those out)

What was unusual was my discovery that I can swim as fast backwards as I can forwards. Was looking in a new large hole/cave and saw a large disc...... which on closer inspection turned out to be an eye... which I thought was strange as it was far to big..... then realized what it was attatched to and I did about 4 knts backwards. The biggest conger I have ever seen, its head was about 6 inches in diameter. When I got my breath back had another look, it was prehistoric big, irritating as there was plenty of room in that ledgy cave network for a lobster, but felt really uncomfortable being anywhere near it so left it well alone. I need to get a go pro.

whats the best detergent for getting brown stains out of wetsuits?

Great report Fro, made me chuckle a lot, Definetly need a video camera, you'd have the mad lobster who attacked your mask and the stonking conger giving you the eye for this years entertainment.

Seaweed the viz was ok on sat/sunday probably 4-6m foggy in patches but ok for the most part. Quite a lot of wind on it last night with a bit of chop so might be a bit murky, but probably very fishy as a consequence.

Yep bang on the money, vis wasn't great but plenty of fish. Lots to see but they came in to biew a little quick for me to shoot ended up bagging myself a 3lb bass so still pleased ha its funny I had a little encounter of my own! I was lying on the bottom and saw a flash of silver above distort the water so looked up only to come face to face with a cormorant staring right at me I got the shock of my life! IT didn't seem scared though and nipped at the spear tip before swimming back up and I saw the pitter patter of its feet on the surface as it flew off. The coincidence of that happening today after reading your conger incident did make me chuckle! rofl

Whats the best Guernsey weather report around folks?

I've looked at Thisisguernsey website which as the Jersey Met office reporting, and seems completely wrong to me.

And im looking at Guernsey surf report (wind readings) which looks a lot more realistic

Also any vis reports now that the hooley seems to have passed

It worked a treat, the best mask I've used so far. Using the toothpaste once, anti fog, and a good spit, it was so comfortable.
I think you need the anti fog if you've already done the toothpaste. :friday
