Happy birthday Jonny same day as me! I went in last night at Grand Harve and the vis was worse than your video. Got out after 45 minutes.

I am completely out of touch with the locale fishing fleet at the moment & I don't know who is trawling but traditionally the 1st of Oct signals inshore trawlers coming right into the sandy bays!
A few years ago I was fishing from a little dingy just a few 100m from the shore when Squirrel actually came through on the inside of me!
Although I hate nets I think the inshore trawlers will do a lot more damage in several ways!
Netting the south east coast is pretty normal this time of years as red mullet fetch good money, Fermain has been popular with netters for as long as I can remember.
Did you see some action then Jonny?
 
no mart just what fisheries posted on FB about removing one right in the bay.

Yes I saw that post too. Set out from steps so below half tide mark but set in a manner not safe for bathers ie set from steps that bathers use. Also unmarked. Good job sea fisheries.

I now carry a vhf, epirb, anchor, 16m line, crocks, neck weights, etc, etc, and it gets a little overloaded. Been fine up until i started carrying all the cr@p, but i think its good to have. So will look for one of those IRB type floats with loads of buoyancy. Slightly gutted to make the decision, but cant afford both!
Not sure on price, probably around 200 scallops, or squid. Offers...?
 
Haha I haven't been in a gym this year or done anything. Its my new gut thats snapping weight belts. All sorted now ive got the right rubber! I like the thought of a blow up board only because ive got a 1 bed flat and a ford KA to store and transport it. New wetsuit arrived yesterday too looks good going to try it on inside out once this hangover does one!

Yes indeed, I have a copy that is well read but I also inherited my bros copy that is so worn you can hardy read the text!
