Sneaky peak at the new fins, how do you find the mustang footpockets? Love mine, the few times I've used them, bit scared of hurting the carbon though!

Thanks guys. Tom the foopockets are amazing, really comfortable. The carbon seems fine, although compared to my old omer fibreglass fins, the new ones [30's] seem really soft, although i tested them and they have the same stiffness, so i think more of a progressive blade flex and less power at the tips. seem to do the job, but will know better when i am more weighted.
@little sarge i think it was about 11m, you can see i just about drop onto the seabed eventually.

Was in Jersey today so popped into the Apnea shop, or at least had a tour of the surrounding countryside around the diversions getting there, cost a bit more in a taxi than I was expecting
Anyhow that shop is top, talk about kid in a candy shop
Restrained myself from going too mad and came out with my first set of proper fins, although making these up for the first time was fun, next time will be easier me thinks.

Hi Jonny, on a nice day its a stunning location, usually brilliant vis, not always fishy, some lovely friendly seals ! and vicious tidal runs which either mean boat drift dives or probably the safer option of fishing shallow weed filled lagoons. I am told that it is quite heavily netted. We have dived it quite a few times with varying success fish wise.

We saw a bass in a hole a couple of weeks ago. It was on a pinnacle, top is -18m, bottom is -43m and little weed, so your theory could be right.

A lot of our fish hole up, usually the ones we are after are bass, mullet, white bream. The trick is finding the holes they like! Its a bit like low water lobstering, once u have found a hole they use, its worth remembering and checking every time u go. Other species hole up too, I have even found a nice Pollack in a hole!

Mike, it sounds like the sort of place to go for the adventure rather than on a fishy mission... not sure how, but i will have to get there at some point.

Well I had to go home and tell Mrs Rockie there was no fish seen today on East coast I didn't even see one to miss. Hopefully a better day tomorrow

unlucky this time rocky there's still some good weather around for a bit yet...

Little S and i swam a marathon and back today - needed the boards!
We found a few scollies and i found a couple of plaice - one got away a split second before the impending doom was going to happen!
hard diving and clear evidence of divers having been through, but we still found a few

Me and J went east today but not our usual spot! Condor passed as we were getting in so that was fun as the waves shortly started breaking over us.

As J said a marathon of a swim and we covered some serious distance and had to work really hard! I am getting used to the drops and feel much more relaxed know. We didn't even unclip the guns from the boards today. Fog horn started sounding after being if for about 45mins but we kept a close eye on things and and the fog soon cleared.

All in all a great session. Well done to J on a lovely plaice. I managed a few scollies which made all the hard work worth while.

Great result guys, makes the marathon worth it, hard luck Rocky, but most of my sessions out have been quite quiet this year. My first year spearfishing a few years ago was my best, seemed to find the bass easier for some reason.

Was a lovely fish mate. Yes but you could see how hard the bubble blowers had hit it! Wasn't easy going finding what we did.
