memo...it would seriously weaken the muzzle given its tapered shape to open it. Definately make the bands in the gun for maximum durability.

I guess your right bands may put pressure against opening it.

My non hydrodynamic version

nice gun but wouldnt it be a bit heavy with the two extra shafts you must use your gun free shafting right?

I guess it will be heavy but maybe it will be neutral in water as he used a lot of wood???

Had a realy crap day spearing today. i just my new winter wetsuit yesterday and went diving today its an eliossub 6mm smoth skin.i had a realy bad diving today because i couldent adjust the weight properly to feel comforable during aspettos. i had 6 kgs on my waist and 6 more on my back but i felt terible and my legs where lifting up during aspettos since my legs where not weighted any of you have any particular way of weighting themselves for aspettos with a 6 mm suit. iv but the gun project on hold for now but will continue as soon as i get the riffe bands i ordered. im thinking about ditching the muzzle idea i had and just making a totem tahiti replica. since it is proven to be such a great gun. but then again my designe can turn out to be a good design also. anyway well see later.talk to you later happy fishin.

Malta, what will be the total lenght of the gun?

I use 5mm suit and use 8kg on waist only, never had any problem during aspettos. Whats the depth that you're hunting? I guess some ankle weights from any sports store could be your solution :)

i was scuba diving when i caught those a few years ago.i dont scuba dive anymore only for scouting an area. you get much much more satisfaction from vree diving aspetto

i never had problems with 3 mm elios but with my new 6 mm i am maybe till i get use to the suit and find the proper weight.i fish in water from 5 to 16 metres aspetto.20 metres if i just shoot and up. im afraid to go deeper for now.because i usually fish by myself.

I'm from Turkey mate,
In here scuba hunting is strictly restricted and I dont like the idea. We have got brown meagre in here but mostly under 1kg.

I have the problem of raising legs at very shallow depths, usually less than 5m. I think a properly adjusted single weight belt will do your job at those depths. IMO the central position of the weight belt gives you more control over your legs (you can lower them easily)

nice fishes! especially the AJ :D

how did you catch them? scuba? freediving?
