Please correct me if I'm mistaken, but to my knowledge, Herbert, Martin, Carlos, Guillaume, Walter, Alexey and Will are not limited by EQ.
I think several of those guys often are limited by EQ. Not as a hard and fast barrier, but enough that it hampers their efforts. Will and Wal both had to turn early at times in the last VB, though both can obviously equalise much better on their good days. I had a nightmare of a time despite some good dives prior to the comp. Guilluame often has trouble too - at least he has done in the past. When you have only a couple of attempts per year and want to avoid large jumps, a low EQ 'hit rate' becomes a big factor.
I also expect many are compromising their dive profiles for the sake of EQ, e.g. by descending slower than is optimal for them, breaking streamline in order to relax their chest or simply focusing very hard on EQ to the detriment of other aspects (I do this). So even when EQ isn't their main barrier, it's still a factor in limiting their depths.
It's been a quiet year but I think the CWT record still has a little way to go before it really plateaus.
