Holiday Guernsey 2007

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
I think the plan (OMD is in control of this bit) is to meet at Pembroke 930pm?

Remember Fox; Podge really loves walking and he would enjoy a hike down to Petit Bot Bay with all his kit :)

I'm really jealous as hell and wish I was there! Say hi to Paul & Jim & Scottie and all.... Cheers & have a great night dive....

... and anybody not going night diving is welcome to come around to mine for impromptu paella, or just drinks whatever, whenever, to meet Podge & co. Sorry it's short notice but everyone's only just decided what they want to do!:friday

PM me if you need details.

p.s. the night divers might like to pop in for a nightcap or cheese etc. on their way back!

Cheers

Colin

Beardy, mate, what a shame! I was never going night diving so I don't know the answer? I will txt OMD & see if I can find out.

Hey ho. Had nice drive round the island.

I'm possible for a Sat morning dive if you guys are sober ;) and I'd like to join you Sunday night if I may.

How well you know him! I think a good time was had by all the non-night diving, paella splinter group. Bottle count was 8 (Between 6, not too bad).:friday :hungover

A great photo and I'm even more jealous -- time for me to dash to the sea for some bass :)

Well only James braved the night dive with OMD, Marco & Ed. However the report is good with lots of fish seen & caught. I will let one of them give the details.

Any one wants to dive today call me.

First off sorry beardy. Lack of communication and change of venu.

Eventual body count was 3 red mullet, 3 bass and a scad, between 3 divers. I don't count as I'm a useless old fart who couldn't catch a cold. There are photo's to follow.

However it wasn't the catch but the sea life seen that was impressive. Vis was okay and I saw; wrasse, bass, pollack, squid, cuttlefish, red mullet, smelt, pout, various crabs, soles and a dozen other mini fish species, worms, planktony things etc, etc, etc.

Good dive. Think James T. was impressed.

Dave

Much improved weather today, we split up into two groups with some diving the lagoon & the OTHERS diving some tide on the east coast. There were plenty fish seen & a few caught. 2 x bass 1 x golden grey & 2 x mullet.
The vis was fair at around 8mtrs but still with plankton.
The lobsters arrived a few mins ago along with a 5.5lb crab in readiness for the feast tomorrow. We are all joining in with Spaniards birthday tonight & this will give all of us a chance to socialise. After the meal we are are off to see a local band.

Pictures of the West Coast team, plus catch! ( well done Scottie!) Conditions were in theory excellent, very disappointing that nothing much was seen - certainly no bass.

The 4 day party continues.:friday Excellent Indian, a special " fishcake" for Spaniard, into the pub next door for excellent live band, the highlight of which was a special request for " Foxy Lady" for Foxfish's partner. Could be a new forum name?:)

Also joining the usual suspects for this were Portinfer, Speedy Spigola plus lady, Mrs Old Man Dave, and Mrs Sarnian.

The festival continues today with more spearing, if the weather improves, and the sumptuous closing feast at Foxy's, for which he has been boiling crustaceans and smoking fish non-stop. Can't wait!

(p.s. can anyone tell me why my allocated space for attachments seems to run out at about 8MB - I thought supporters got 100MB? I can delete some but does this mean they will no longer appear on the posts they were attached to?)

Great pics Col but what the .... am I doing?!! Twas a good night & the band as predicted was loud but still a great sound. This morning my ears hurt a bit not sure if it was diving or the band? The weather is expected to improve this afternoon with long sunny spells & light winds?
The guys will have their last chance for more bass over the low tide around mid day, slightly better tide as well.
Party starts around 5pm but for anyone not eating please come around 7pm, all welcome.
