Hi all,

It's a bit late but while we're all anxiously waiting for Gopro's official release on the flat lens we have here our version of the flat lens design for the Gopro HD just to get us by in the meantime.

More information on the goods for sale section here:

Please have a look at the comparison footage on Youtube below:

Also footage from the pressure chamber test below:

Agree with azapa - 100%
very interested in it. also in the red one

The previous message by me did not list the URL I entered, but rather my Google search parameter. Try going to eyeofmine.com

Check out this site: GoPro Hero camera-underwater focus fix

They manufacture a housing with a flat lens for $79 (pressure tested to 100') and one for $100 (tested to 200')

Why would You spend 100 bucks, or $75 or anything when You can have this focus problem fixed free?

There is Pursuit Spearfishing where You can buy GoPro for regular price ($260) and flat lens is included. $20 for upgrade to glass lens or $43 if You already have GoPro

GoPro HD HERO Naked - Pursuit Diving

watch out, those small replacment lenses have a small angle of view and those darker corners are worse. The eye-of-mine has a big lens fitted very close to the gopro camera lens, hence reducing this problem. I have seen footage from both, the difference is large.

It would be great to post a comparison here. I have the eye-of-mine and can post some test shots should anyone want to do the same with the lens replacement type.

OK, will do over the weekend

I had pool footage but I formatted the sd card. Now I want some footage from the lake
But it looked good in full HD (R5) Yes, there is vignette effect in other modes but R5 is the only one I'll use

R5 is the only good mode for diving underwater. The rest looks too small and far away. I hate when I watch videos recorded in R3. My opinion.

Hey guys, what about GoPro HD Hero2?

I just recorded about 100GB of footage in Hawaii with my GoPro/Pursuit focus fix and it looks sharp. But take a look below at Martin Stepanek's housing he's testing for one rebreather company from Czech Republic.
This housing works with GoPro HD/HD2, does not fog and focus fix works in every mode without vignette corners. Depth rating is 160 meters.
Aluminium version is coming soon with depth rating of 300 meters:) No price info yet

Looks very impressive!!! Now..."show me the money!" How much?

May be i would be a good idea to wait to Feb 2012. On the DEMA Gopro said they will start selling a underwater housing (vignetting free in all modes) then.

And here is few frames from my GoPro HD (not HD2) with focus fix by Pursuit. Frames were pulled from video in R5 mode.

Here's case where fixed focus shines, image is always in focus no matter how close or far. This White Tip came to me almost to touch before he made turn (and no, I didn't freak out)
