Anybody on here use an inflatable kayak, bought one last year which I sent back after a couple of months but looking to get another with a budget of around 400 euro.

Looked at the plastic ones but prefer the option of packing it small.

I'd think perhaps a small inflatable boat would be the way to go?

I have a small 4m boat (or had till it got nicked) and it could take a small outboard which definitely opened up some options.

YEp, its hard going to find fish in March but its good to get one, and then chill till the good weather sets in

Had a look on Donedeal and would probably need a trailer as well, might just stick with the kayak as don't dive offshore anyway.

My boat could be deflated or pumped in about 4 minutes, fitted into a lovely bag which went in my boot
edit: it was 3m, and took myself and jonny out a few times.

chealy, just sold our inflatable kayak last week for 275euro (had pump 2 oars and anchor) and bought a small inflatable boat like rob is on about... gonna get a small outboard for it... kayaks are great with plenty of room to tie gear onto but we found we were a bit limited to where we could go... last year we were out on it and the wind picked up... what would usually take 15 mins took hr and half to get back... and we were only 20 yrds from shore... we got a brand new 2.5mtr boat for 300 euro...hoping to get a motor for around 400....looks ok but havent been on water yet... think a small inflatable is the way to go myself...

the boat fits into the boot of the car fine and takes less time to blow up than kayak..

suppose it might be an idea to look into it but kinda enjoyed paddling around in the kayak and not sure I would go offshore enough to warrant a boat.

Lots wrong with overkill! It will rip the seam and as you have a solid transom you will sink.
Also these boats aren't the most contoured with the inflatable keel, so I'm not sure how much more speed you will see with it...
Plus a 5hp is a bit heavier than a 2.7hp.

The boat you are look at is german and is not a bad price. I bought mine from these guys and they sell your viamer 250 also

I have a 2.5hp to go on my tender and that itself weights 20kg so its a decent weight on the back. Honestly, it will be a little slow but it will get you where you want to go.
That said I haven't tested your boat so I really cannot say. But when it comes to me being in the middle of the ocean in a sinking ship... i'll follow manufacturers instructions

these size engines will always be fine. In most cases they are used as a bkp aux engine and have seen little use.
