FYI: I checked the official web pages of the competition and this is what they had to say about the pool conditions:

"The Dynamic Apnea Competition (and training) will be held in a temperature controlled swimming pool. The swimming pool exceeds the specifications in the AIDA Rules and Regulations"
"Surrounded by the full amenities the swimming pool is surely to meet the athletes desire for comfort and the demand for safety! Keep your eyes posted here in the near future for pictures and specifications of the swimming pool."

How about that for some marketing hype...

Hello, I have heard rumuors about an accident at the WC. Some swedish guy who has been training alone???. Can any of you confirm this or the opposite???. Really hope that the story isn't true....

Argh, this is really starting to go on my nerves! Today's CW is certainly over since a few hours, and we still do not have any results anywhere! Could someone tell us at least if there were some penalizations or disqualifications today?

Guyz I am trying to get in touch with people in Egypt but there are captains meeting AIDA judges courses and athletes meetings happening at the same time (NOW) and it is hard to get anyone to pick up their phones...
All the results I have are listed on page 12... I'll try another call

Thanks, Stavros! My comment was rather pointed to the organizers and AIDA. I really do not understand why they are not able to post the results. It's about 5 minutes of work. I understand that the main managers do not have time for it, but there are certainly dozens when not hundreds of people who are not that busy after completing their main job (i.e. safety divers, non-competing team members, all the personel, ..). All what it takes, it assigining a person, handing out the results, and giving him/her access to the website.

He refered to the accident last week in Sundsvall. I just chatted with Isabelle, and she mentioned that all Swedes are doing OK.

I agree with trux. Update of the official site sucks (hope this word is not too much, otherwise please delete my message....note for admins) The only update is in photos area. And if our photographer (Peter Vaverka) wasn't there they'd probably have nothing.

Is there really nobody able to tell us today's complete official results? This is really unbelievable! And what about local freedivers - Marwan, and others, ain't you able to tell us more? According to some reports, the event was broadcasted live, so I guess at least the local channels brought some information.

sorry trux, still tuck in cairo with the flu, also my mates in the egyptian team had problems so backed out of the competition. They would have been my only sources really..
as fo the broadcast , its really messed up, i checked all the local newspapers for the schedules on TV, there was no mention of it, if someone would tell me the times, i will monitor the channels and provide some info for you guys...

Otherwise, in terms of the organization, I STRONGLY believe in Kirk Krack's concept. It is time to forget about the non-profit system of governing. There are two methods:
1. Non-profit organization governs the sport, and one single FOR-PROFIT organization organizes all championships for a profit, and its employees get paid
2. Primary governing organization is FOR-PROFIT, and its members get paid, and organize all major championships

When people are doing things for free, don't expect much.
