New float board

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
One possible problem with home made flat bottomed floats is flipping over!
My boogie board float is great until you load it up with to much kit & then in turns over causing huge drag. As soon as a few fish are attached & hung underneath, it becomes more stable but again more drag.

Any idea how much the floats will be yet? Shipping to UK/EU?

My goal has been to squeeze as much (quality) as I can into it and offer it for 200 USD (retail). I think the only way I can viably offer it to Europe is to offer free shipping to those countries where shipping costs are not excessively high - countries where shipping costs are excessively high in Eu; Greece, Portugal.

Heres an idea! , although I expect production costs would be way to high and only appeal to a limited audience.

I imagine a plastic type "Sit on Top" kayak, with a removable back section which acts as a float (similar size to your float design). This extra bit give the kayak extra volume when it is being paddle and also length for speed, but once you anchor this section unclips and can be used as a bouy and towed.

I guesse it could be made more markatable if the section that uncliped could double as a "body board" for surfing ... the outta reefs (where there is no shame ... (tounge in cheek))!

I like that idea - you mean use it as a backrest/seat-back? I need one of those anyway - it would be great it could also be used as a dive float. If it had a handle-hole, perhaps it could also act as an emergency paddle?

hey my friend has a sit on kayak with one of those it looks like a gear locker that goes where the dive bottle would normally fit it is definatly factory not home made i'll see if i can get a photo next time i'm at his place
