New Freediving Computer to be unveiled at DEMA 08

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
@Doug: Thank you so much for clarifying that! :)

Patiently waiting for it's (November?) release here...

Good to here!:friday

Curious why a Aeris Europe Rep would be so......misinformed. Maybe the shop guy was lieing to sell his remaining Geo's...

Either way, I'm waiting to here of the shops that will start stocking the Aeris in Europe (particularly Belgium).

I just pass the comment of rxcnc2 from this thread, that Doug possibly did not see:

Andrea (and I totally agree with him) would love to see more than just 100 dives stored in the logs. 99 dives may be sufficient for a short scuba vacation, but when freediving you fill it pretty fast in a few days.

So if the 99 is just software limit, please remove it. If the computer has really just so tiny memory capacity, please consider upgrading the hardware. It is hard to believe though, that with the permanent progress in memory manufacturing, where densities and capacities are doubled each couple of months, the diving computers have still the same capacity as 10 years ago!

After starting to believe the hype about the F10 plus having a small chat with Trux about where to get it in Europe, I did some googleing and send out a few mails to different european distributors and shops.
Here is a few of their replies.

Oceanic.de: "…we will have it on stock estimated at the end of October, because the delivery of F10 freedivecomputer is advised for week 43 / 2009."

Oceanic Espana (worldive.es): Will get back when the computer is in stock.

Divetechnics.be: Awaiting response.

Tauchdiscount.de: "Next week we'll have it in stock in color lime." (Next week = week 42)

Lazy-divers.de: "…Aeris promised us that we will get them latest at october 23."

And then I´ve had a correspondence with another shop, who came up with a price that was very, very reasonable. Their reply was very short and a bit cryptic though, so I´ve asked them to be a little more clear and to confirm the price. I´ll let you know when they get back ;-)

DD; Sorry if it was not clear, that my post regarded the availability for the F10 i Europe.
Since I´m form Denmark, ordering form outside Europe will result in a 25% danish VAT on both the computer and the shipping costs.

In respect to the lime color, thanks for the info! Not a particular good idea to get the hands of those then…
Unfortunately this german webshop, which I referred to previously, advertises the lime version and in an email reply claim to get that color only.
Well, what a mistake which just seem to underline the confusement of the availability of the Aeries F10 in Europe. :duh

sorry, F10 was never available in lime at the retail level only the test computors.

PM Doug for european distributors i think is the best option.

I'm working to recruit our European partners so that they can let you all know where and when first hand.

Hello everybody,

my colleague in the states Doug Krause asked me to join this thread to answer you your questions. So here I am.

I am working in the office of Oceanic Europe in Augsburg, Germany and I am responsible for the marketing. From here we distribute also the products of our labels »Hollis« and »Aeris«.

So please feel free to ask your questions about the F 10!

With best regards

Thomas

@oceanic-europe:

I. When will the F.10 be available in Benelux shops, at what target price?

II. Doug has launched two threads for capturing ideas for (future) development of the F.10 Will the resulting updates/upgrades be available through simple cable interfacing (after downloading firmware) or does the F.10 need to be send back for these upgrades.

Thanks a lot,

Hehe, hi Thomas and welcome to the "F10" thread. rofl

I had a correspondence with your colleague Dagmar Stec a week ago. The message back then was, that the F10 would be around (in Europe) during week 43. Is that still holding up?

H!

Hello Thomas! Welcome to DeeperBlue and our community of freediving/spearfishing fanatics.

Most of the questions have already been asked so there's nothing I need to add.

Hello Thomas,

This is great tot have you listening to this thread !

Can you tell me when and where I'll find a F10 in France ?

Thanks !

Hello everybody,

thanks for the warm welcome in the forum!!!
I got the information, that we have got the first 35 pieces from the states. But they are already sold out here in Germany. That means, the units are available at the moment in the shops. As I could also find out, some of the units were delievered already to France.

Belgium hasn't ordered up to now. But I am shure, that they will with the next delievery.

Hope I could help!

Thomas

I forgot to talk about the price. In Germany the official price is 259 Euro. I guess in Europe, the price will be more less the same.

Best Regards

Thomas

The F.10 firmware may be updated via the pc interface. If hardware changes are made, that would require an update of the unit itself.
