New gun build

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
looks great! must have a look in the flesh before i disappear.

Over the top Fox, I love it, what a work of art. I totally agree with Spag.

This is how the bands will be attached, I used a piece of 4mm wire threaded inside a piece of PVC tube & bent it to fit in the muzzle end. I filled around the pipe with a mix of epoxy & microfibers & when the glue had dried I pulled out the wire & cut the PVC flush with the gun.
I have also cut the track...
Next up, I will sand down the gun & spray it with some clear lacquer before moving on to making a handle & trigger linkage.



 
I dont count the hours but, more hours than any other gun I have built, maybe 60 -70.
I have in fact got on quite well today (5 hours!!) sprayed the gun with acrylic lacquer & started the handle, trigger linkage.
No pics though as there is not much to show for the 5 hours :head

....sounds like my luck with fishing of late! Can't wait to see the finished article! Looks like its going to be a proper bassassinator! :martial
 
It has taken an age to build the handle in fact the pictures show mark two!
The first version just did not look right, to big & rounded, not a good match for a slim gun like this one.

I put my gun build on hold last year as I came across a cheap rob allen... but wowo!!

Was it not possible to use a cable or internal rod for the offset trigger mechanism? Looks cool either way but I'm concerned that setup might allow for accidental firing.

Good point but, the gun pictured is far from finished - the trigger will be well protected in the end.
I have been working on how to conceal the trigger & still maintain the minimalistic lines, not easy but, almost there.....
 
i wouldn't worry about accidental firing. that thing is way too pretty to hunt with.! with all that time, i would put it in a display case or something! the problems i have been having with your gun build projects ,is:i really cant copy anything from you to incorporate into my guns. your stuff is just out of my league, all together! where do you come up with all this? i am saving this thread to look at in about 10 years, so that way, if i keep building guns, by then, maybe i will be able to even attempt some thing like that. BRAVO!!! you are THE MAN!

I see your point. It is definitely a masterpiece, but in my mind that's the reason it would be a crime not to use it at least once.
 
LOL I have a shed full of guns - sometimes my guns get sold but most stay with me & hardly ever get used however, they have all been tried & tested at some time.
To be honest I use air guns for my hunting, I build band guns as a hobby.
This one will be tested to see how it performs & adjusted until it does!
Then it will go to its new home & owner as this gun is a commission for a friend in the Med.
