Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
I had planned to, at least on Fridays when I leave early, but I tore a muscle in my back last Friday so it will be at least a week or more before i'm back in the water.

If you want you can send me your e-mail and I can forward it to a few guys I normally dive with. We are all some what newbies, but it's better than solo diving especially if your pushing yourself.

I sent you my e-mail address, but not sure where it went (?), I don't think it was e-mail or PM...anyways let me know if you got it.

All I really wanted to stress is that I am also new to this, but open to diving with anybody that is fit enough to not be a liability in the water. ;)

i only know of inspiration point over in Newport that i dove with aesthetic and matt once. But its a great spot id like to visit it again, but i hear laguna has more reef. id be down to try any new spot as long as someone is in the water with me!

Tomorrow may not be the best of days for me, but like u said the swell may be coming in. so let me know how it is and ill try to make some time this week.

Im 24, and also pretty new to freediving, my deepest is about 10m as well (30-40 ft)

Ok, I'm gonna get wet tomorrow, I'll let you know how it is.

Got the e-mail this morning at work because my line is down at home so didn't have a chance to check it last night. Conditions should be good today if you dive. As far as experience the only few guys I have dove with are still also very new, but in much better shape then me. If you don't mind I can give him a ring. He's in HB and could probably meet up at with you mid afternoon if he's not busy with work.

Let me know.

Abel

Dove a spot in southern Laguna today. The ocean wasn't so kind, and I came home empty handed, but the conditions are pretty damn good right now.

Water is warm, surge is minimal, visibility is probably a good 15-20' and there seems to be alot of activity. Lets hope conditions hold up.

Yea it was bad, it was some green crud i heard. i didnt check it our for myself, but i hear the crud is moving south... so maybe thats why laguna and newport are getting worse

DARN! I hope not I only get to dive on weekends and I was hoping to get out on saturday! Now it seems like I have to shoot for deeper water.

oh mannnn i just woke up from a nap ;( i stayed up way too late last night.. and now im tired as hell lol. xahx hope you didnt go out, i doubt it since i never got a call or text. i think im gonna take it easy tonight, rest up, and maybe go out tomorrow around 10am or something, before the crowds hit.

same spot as usual. im eager to get out if the viz holds up. it says 10-12 in shaws cove (a few coves down), thats what it usually is when i head down there, should be good.

I was out today, vis was horrible- it didn't help that it was cloudy and the tide was low, but there was alot of water moving out there. I kindof got a little motion sickness.

Good thing you didn't come down Xahx.

whered you go out, specifically? the surge is what i was a bit concerned with, because one foot can make all the difference. ;)

hopefully its not too bad if i head down tomorrow. gonna check first.

so i ended up going out saturday to table rock in laguna.. viz was about 6-8ft.. more or less. only ran across a few perch and plenty of smelt and garibaldi. my buddy got a nice calico.

i dont know why, but he kept comin across sand bass, calico, etc.. i think because he could dive down. i couldnt go deeper than 8-10ft before i got a huge migraine feeling above my right eyebrow.. like pressure.. then when i would resurface it would slowly fade. i tried dealing with it to get down, but i couldnt help but feel like it was a bad idea - not to mention the pain was pretty intense the deeper i went. anyone know what this is? sinuses?

he asked me to join him again to check the surf at the wedge (we bodyboard).. last time we went out it was a good 10-12ft, but i guess on this day it was completely flat.. this was sunday afternoon, btw. i was sunburned/tired from the angels game i went to earlier that day, so i told him i would pass. plus i figured that was a crappy spot to spear. (mostly sand/jetty) well i get a text message that i missed out and he ended up getting a few nice corbina! i was jealous. heres some of the pictures.

went to catalina today, viz was decent but the water was murky.... viaz at about 15'

I shot a pretty large calico at 3-4 lbs. my dad hookred a monster calico at 5-6 lbs, and buddy of mine landed a 10 lb yellowtail.

awesome day out wish the viz was bettter tho.

Hey i live in Glendora/Huntington Beach. I Scuba/Snorkel almost every weekend and am wanting to get into some hunting. Anyone going diving this long weekend. We are diving shaws cove on monday and maybe La Jolla cove on sunday. Let me know.
