Looks great guys - wish i was there with you.....

Good luck everyone, have a fantastic weekend.

I am missing coz I am stuck here in bloody Kuwait!
Wish I could be there, but will be strolling through a desert instead.
Next time.
Good luck with the comp Francois!

Dave

For anyone "on location", please feel free to comment here what's going on. In my opinnion this may be one of the most exciting competitions all year (just look at the inscribed list). Trainings should have started by now?

Anyone know if there's any staff from db covering it?

Simo,

Unfortunately due to editorial constraints we haven't been able to send anyone to cover the competition - however i'm sure we'll get some reports from DB Members.

Tomorrow first boat to leave at 7:45 with Carlos Coste on board ; he announced 104 m in constant weight... A WR might be broken then between 9:30 and 9:45 AM...

And then 1 boat every hour...

My boat is leaving at 1:45 PM (I announced a very modest 28 m...)

Last boat is leaving at 2:45 PM with 20 m and 10 m announced...

I did both trainings yesterday and today... (there were three departures each time...)

Today at 5 PM there was an event committee with a very long briefing about the new AIDA regulations...

There was a long debate about the important question : "how many times is a competitor allowed to pull the rope ?" ; Bill Stromberg made a bright intervention as a newly appointed AIDA Chairman on this very subject and allowed us to pull the rope as many times as we wished :) as far as it is within the 1.50 m zone...

As far as I remember your compatriot Johanna announced 42 m and should embark tomorrow at about 11:45 or 12:45....

I hope Carlos will break it, I didn't expect his 103m record to last a year. :)
Good luck subaqua! I hope you'll enjoy all your dives.

as far as I understood, Carlos did only 98 m...

I annouced a modest 28 m, but my right ear began to ache at 25 m... and I had to go back...

there was a fantastic weather ... we all meet at 8 PM to have a jolly dinner in old Nice...

Well, you missed your target by less meters than Carlos. :)
Glad to hear that you played it safe. Equalize more frequently next time. ;)

Thanks for the updates.

I heard Guillaume made 88? How about Tom Sietas?

Will be exciting tomorrow, there's some pretty good dynamic and static athletes in there. I count 3 current or previous world record holders and a quite a few that have been close.

Here in Kuwait I am receiving reports that the UK contingent is doing well...
Well done to all of you, I am sure you are all missing me and wishing I were there as it is not the same without me!!!

A fat, crap, non diving dave at the moment is green with envy and bored sh**less by marking exams here in the desert.
See you all soon and good luck in the dynamic.static...
UK records are there to be beaten...GO FOR IT!!
Dave
P.S. up date me please!!
