Tough day yesterday, fish seem to have disappeared and in a few hours I had only spotted a few small bass. Then finally I visited some of my secret heavens. [emoji56][emoji41]

Managed a pretty decent day yesterday down the Llyn. 2 bass and 2 decent pollock. Had plenty of chances for a third bass but with the three limit I was holding out for the big boys but they didnt show/I couldnt find them. I also scored a stonking great big mullet on my way back in to the beach, somehow it went missing between the last 10 meters from a rock to the shore, must have ripped off the fish stringer! Devastated to say the least.
The first spot I wanted to re-visit which was utterly blissful on my first encounter was now saturated with jet-ski's and speed boats. The witless drivers show new levels of idiocy it's going to give me a brain haemorage if I think about it too much. There genuinly should be an IQ test and laws about the proximity in which you can drive those things at speed. Anyway, rant over.

Denian, if you're ever up this way and you fancy a dive in the Straits let me know, I live in Menai Bridge. I was hoping to head down the peninsula again today but by the looks of the forecast it doesn't look like it'w worth it.

Without teaching you how to suck eggs, mullet are prone to rip off a stringer, so pierce them through both eye sockets. That way if they do get off you can sneak up on them ! Happy hunting.

Cheers man, I presumed that the eye sockets were going to be the way to go. The skull is mighty tough, I had a hard enough time despatching it with my knife.

The ground on the northern side of the Island is really quite silty so the vis is often bad even after a quiet spell. It gets better further west once you get onto the sand by Church Bay etc. I was quite surprised how clear the Straits looked this morning when I was walking to work. Roughly 3m vis by the slipway in Menai Bridge with plenty of bait fish around.

My trip to Morfa Nefyn yesterday was a bit disappointing. Came away with a couple of pollock and a small bass. I saw a few small ones but I only saw one decent sized bass in the distance. I also expected to see a lot of mullet over the sea grass but not a sniff of the stinkers.

Do I need to come up there and administer some nice warm yellow medicine onto your stings! I'm very happy to do it, in fact I'll piss on anyone to help out!

Squeezed in a late session after work last night.

Location: West coast of Anglesey
Visibility: 1-4m
Water temperature: 13 C
Spotted: 1 small bass, small pollock, shoal of sprats.
Taken: Absolutely nothing!

Quite surprised at the low water temperature, the same spot a couple of weeks ago it was 15C. Let's see what the Llyn has to offer tonight :)

Nice haul, I'm glad to see someone's at least seeing some fish! My weekend was pretty unproductive. Visited a spot on the South of the Llyn which I thought was going to be great ground. Turned out it was more of a nursery ground for baby wrasse. Smashed it up onto the north side afterwards but it was getting late and the light was fading so I didn't stick it out very long. Reading your post about the new moon makes me think I should have stuck it out a little longer. Visibility at both sites was fairly poor, 1-5m. Yesterday I visited a new site on Anglesey as the tide was dropping and again I didn't see much other than a few small pollock. The good thing to come from the weekend is that I'm feeling a lot more comfortable in the water. I've started O2 and co2 tables which appears to be having an almost instant affect.

I had a dive on the south yesterday from my boat , fairly fishy over low and missed a very nice bass from about a yard away somehow, probably so shocked to actually see one ! I did manage to leave with a decent crab and lobster , vis was mixed 2-6m
