Good works bois. Things are definately picking up. I got in lats night about 11, saw my first spider of the year. no mullet strangely. baged 4 Bass out of the 10 I saw.All around the 2lbs mark. Not many big ones around yet, well atleast where I'm spearing. picked up two lobsters and an edible but all too small.

Really good dive vis was awesomeand flat calm with no distractions.

Bank holiday weekend in on the way, who's up for a meet up on sunday? would be good to get a group together for a morning dive and a night dive maybe?

possible bbq and some cold beverages in the afternoon???

Busy on the weekend unfortunately , but heading down thurs/Friday probably south llyn looking at weather, if anyone fancies it . Great reports everyone ,plenty being seen and caught . Wonder when the algae bloom will hit this year?

Heading over on Saturday and Sunday. Can anyone give me a pointer for a decent place to get in the water to test out my new mask and fins? Just somewhere sheltered with good vis given recent winds, doesn't need to be crawling with 5lb bass. Less bank holiday boats probably more important...

No weights yet, that's when I get paid next week Given I'm 60kg and got a 5mm suit, how much lead weight should I be thinking about buying to begin with? And what's the deal with bullets? Thanks

Hey, got in last night at a new spot with no luck so drove to another spot. Vis was around 4m, and a shed loads of off shore wind.
Managed 4bass 3pound and under and one place.
Did see a few more bass about but left them for another time.

The first time I went spearing, I didn't use weights... it was a nightmare! I floated around in the 1 foot viz before being terrified out of the water by a seal rofl

In short, unless you plan to just float around in the shallows, you'll need some weights - you can't get underwater without them. In full spearing gear, I find it a bit of a nightmare without weights on as you're just so buoyant - I find it hard to fin without something weighting me down.

I'd guess you'll need 7 - 8kg of lead. Make sure you get a rubber belt and not one of those horrible nylon ones - the rubber belts stretch to fit your body, the nylon ones don't, which means you have to have them super tight - used to make me feel sick every time I wore one.

Got in this morning s4 not fish seen only jellies felt very cold 2-4m via big tides fast moveing water very bitty v strong winds cold trashing it a bit even tho on south coast must be well messed up on north side .saltn smoke have weight belt you can use gun as well if you need to . May meet you with dyllun .shellterd spots still have great vis

Met up with Ian last night at aberdaron. sea was a bit rough but we gave it a go. vis was good considering the conditions 3-m but it was hard work with the onshore wind. So we got out and headed over to porth oer. After a long patrol I managed one bass around 2lb. I did see some flattys but nothing of size.

If anyone is thinking of going in today you might find some vis in some sheltered north coast spots.

Warming up in my first outing however I was actually freezing my ass off. The water is still incredibly cold!!!!
