It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
Now this makes sense. Reverse mechanism, rubber loading pad, open nozzles, strong and soft mechanism, ergonomic handle and more = Pathos guns.

Your right mate, I think Companys like Pathos are leading the way with clever design and development. I first bought the mako from US when i got into spearfishing and didn't really know any better, I just wanted something different. And I picked up the RA cheap to have a second bigger gun. Hopefully they will serve me well a few years and as long as I hit what im aiming at most of the time il be happy.
When I look to get new guns I will certainly be looking at Pathos, the laser carbon looks very good.

Pathos are nice looking guns - I nearly brought a "Laser Open Carbon Pro" last year but couldn't get one smaller than 90cm so left it.

I have the 110 laser open carbon pro, great killing machine. The gun has only two issues: needed 30gr weight at the nozzle fopr a perfect balance and a bit of gym for loading. lol Now they have the sargos carbon which is basically the same gun with different colors, double bands in latex and 6.5mm shaft.

Is the rail on the Laser Open Carbon glued on? I read that it was but could never confirm it.

I'm a big fan of the Greek Bleutec guns. I think that's where my money will be going.

I didn't mean to say they are not good guns. The mako reminds me a gun I had and loved in the past, sporasub black viper (discontinued by sporasub I think around 10 years ago after I believe 20 glorious years). I think Mako bought the molds of sporasub or something like that because the handle and the barrel are exactly the same (the nozzle is totally different). They are good and serve the job, no doubt on that. I just meant to say that there are a bit more technical options at a similar price.

Well, they say it is not exactly glued but fixed with the same resin used for the carbon which means it can never come off.

Right, I guessed so - it's just a carbon tube with a rail stuck on top - bit of a shame.

I like the fact that the Btec guns are all single piece carbon mono - they seem to have good reviews too.

That is cosmetic, technically there is not difference. I see the point though, you want something that looks good, that's why you have to buy a polo sub suit! Ah ah ah

To be honest mate - considering how much I fish, I'll spend more time looking at it than I will fishing with it! So yeah, it's all about looking good!

In the pre storm gloom..... Four more days until scallop season!!

...... Hahaha. Yeah maybe tho suspect it wont be quite over by then. More chance of finding a bass on the beach i reckon. May be bunny time though.....
Either way, will be down soon.

Ho hum, scallop season today.. Should have gone down for a swim as tomorrow looks lousy!! Boo,

Can't beleave it so crap !I just can't bring my self to go with the odds being so bad ?

Yeah leaving it until decent. Severe gales from the south makes even scalloping a bit more exciting than id like. Next week for sure if any good. That is unless dyll is back and fancies some bunny action........??

Looking at web cams at abersoch.co.uk think it was a wise move to stay at home !Fingers crossed for next weekend.

Long range forecast isn't looking too good for next weekend either ;( those lucky scallops!

Talk about change in conditions over the llyn from this morning to now !.the vis will still be shit tho!Going to try and go next weekend no matter what!..............um ....that line rings a bell!....I can see them scallops now through the 0.5m viz!

0.5m viz wishfull thinking........it's about 150mm on the south side of the llyn this eve ....how do you find scallops in gravy ....suppose I will dive down hit bottom feel around grab arms full of welsh scallops and bung them in my float....um can see that plan coming off in the morning listening to the wind starting to howl out side!. Think it may be worth staying at home another weekend boys.Has anyone been crazy enough to come over this weekend yet ?

I was thinking I might head over on Sunday for a haul of scallops, what do you reckon Ian, will I be groping in the dark?
