It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
Was going last night and planed to dive Fri night . And then first light on high then after lunch on low for scallope's but it didn't come off .sure it will be much better than last week .with northerly wind turning light over the last 48hrs then picking up to southwesterlys .later today.good luck.

Hey guys does anybody know where you can do freedive courses in the north of the UK. I would be interested in extending my breath hold and also getting deeper more comfortably. I am doing O2 and CO2 tables regularly but wouldn't mind some more advice.

I did my pool and theory for AIDA 2 star with Steve Millard recently from apneists uk website here http://www.freedivers.co.uk/ his email is apneaboy111@hotmail.com . I really enjoyed the course and it does teach you a lot about safely progressing , I surprised myself with a 3minute static on the day after some tution about breath up / relaxation etc. Im still waiting to get a date on my open water part of the qualification ( Steve if your watching !?? ) Cost for full course is £250 but split in two , half for pool and theory and half for open water aspect.
Also I really like this tables program , very useful for the laptop

Yeah I live in Rochdale and the closest pool they operate at is in a college pool in Gorton , Manchester. Id like to go to the pool nights but I don't really get time.

Do let me know boys if ya passing I will split costs and talk to ya !I'm only a few minutes from RAF Sealand .A550

Yup, got in south side , flat calm but no viz to speak of.... Ok for scallops though!! Met up with Dyllun too, which was v cool. great day actually.
Photo on way later.

might have cleared a little by tomorrow. I hit it at one hour before low. apparently lots of bass still about for the fishermen.......

good luck if anyone goes!

Go matt go !It still looks ok on web cams.Bloody typical!Come on pat get the pic s up ya just teasing now! What was the viz like in cm?.What did you get ?Has any one done straights ?May try next weekend ?

Afraid the vis wasn't very good and as I don't know where the scallop beds are I came back empty handed....

I have dropped him an email and I`m now awaiting a response.

Quite often my time for spearfishing is limited so I tend to hit nearest spot as less time drviving means more time in the water. I always drive past the great orme and I have read that the anglers catch a fair few bass from there. Do any of the guys ever spearfish that area and if so could you give me any pointers?

I was diving off anglesey on sunday which takes me about and hour and half, the great orme would probably take me just over an hour making quick hits a possibility.

We're off turf lane, Ashton crescent. I'm originally from stalybridge but my wife is from chadderton (long lane).

I may be down Monday , if anyone is in the market for a Suunto D4i , my local dive shop has a deal that comes with a free tank transmitter. £335 inc free transmitter. You can sell the transmitter on ebay for at least £100 , meaning the D4i will only stand you at £235 at the most . Less if you manage a better price for the transmitter! http://www.divelife.co.uk/
I just picked one up today.
