OMG its stunning just got down it baking all ready sat in the sun getting sorted totake boat injust having second breakfast!it looks like the caribian.hope some of you are gettting in !any one wonts to come out on boat meet me in an hour at phllwie slip !

who was it spearing the training arm did you have any luck ?conditions are brill vis is fantastic water warm didnt need gloves apart from handling spider and fish.had morning on boat got 2 lbs mullet and two big spiders lots bass n mullet seen but to slow or could get close to shot.loads of crabs about.

My name is David or “Hoppe” and I’m originally from N Wales, but living in the midlands (ideal for a sea lover). Just first of all want to say thanks for keeping me updated with current conditions etc, I have enjoyed reading your posts and adventures.
I have been intermittently spearing around the Llyn for the past 4-5 years, usually for 3 or 4 weekends a year and can honestly say I have only met one other spearo in that time so it’s great to know there are dedicated spearos in North Wales!
Most of my spare time is taken up competitively fly-fishing around the UK, but next week I’m on holiday and I’m planning to spend a week at Nefyn (spearing around the llyn) with my kayak; which should result in high winds, a bloom and bad vis, so apologies in advance for next week’s weather!
If anyone is about who fancies a dive let me know, it would be great to meet some other spearos).* I will be based at Tudweiliog from 17th until 23rd
I will try to give my first reports next week too

I was not going to post anything to avoid spoiling Bros thunder but briefly, we had a few epic days on the Llyn last week. Some very good fish taken including Bros PB bass which nudged 6.5lb, a smattering of 5lb fish and....a Gilthead (Astonishing fish caught by Bro)! Wonderful week with great weather.
Sorry kids, I've been a little busy since I got back, I'll some pics up in a bit! It's about time some 'proper' fish were posted in this thread!
The Gilthead wasn't huge but will make a lovely meal for two - I haven't got any photos of him when freshly caught but he's in the freezer at the moment. Despite having a camera with us at all times, we actually took precious few photos - in between the various boat dramas, amazing fishing and mammoth swims, we somehow forgot to get it out.
We took, let's be fair, an epic number of great sized fish - this was the first time ever on the Llyn that I've seen consistently big bass being caught - we didn't weigh any the fish (no scales) so you can judge of them from the photos, NO photoshop involved whatsoever!
A great few days of great fishing with a great mate - photos will appear in a bit!
