My last dive i found a Canon camera still works nicely in a waterproof Bag housing and a scuba divers lead shot weight quick release pouch from a BCD. If anyone can tell me the make of the camera ...

He probably meant the model..... ;)

Apnea Academy organised a clean up day in the town where i used to live in Italy.
That day I picked up 3 car tyres with rims attached, an anchor stuck at 20m, and enough plastic bags and fishing nets to kill a whole species off. We had to submit our loot to the judges, but i saw them eyeing up the anchor for themselves so judiciously kept it behind.

Other finds - a stopwatch with timer running for 3 days, 16 hours, 5 minutes

I once found a few plastic tags floating around the bottom of a line in the Blue Hole... what sickening pollution :t

Hasn't anyone found some guy from New Jersey with his feet in concrete, yet? :D

1 Pancho
1 Pair men's underwear (prob'ly went overboard with the pancho...)
1 Rear axle (looked like it came from an older vehicle)
1 Partial cow's skull with horn
A lot of fishing lures
Uncounted golf balls
4 Surfboard fins (1 was mine :crutch)
1 diving fin (no name, no brand)
1 Churchill Boogieboarding fin
AND
1 Riffe No Ka Oi with stabilizer wings - appeared to have been in the water for at least 2 weeks, there were baby mussels growing in the trigger mechanism. No spear, line, etc. A little cleaning, A LOT of teak oil, and a bunch of dead fish! :king

That's the list that readily comes mind, I'm sure there's a lot that I left out...

My first speargun. Lost again a few years later, this time in a river
Rambos diving knife, I kid you not this thing is huge. Very sturdy though, cleaned off very nicely :)
Lots of fishing lead weights, varios shapes and sizes
Spark plugs, used as weights by anglers :rcard
Little mesh bags filled with stones, used as weights rofl
A few rands worth of change and a silver chain.
Still waiting for that big find though :)

Found a nice big (150g/5-6oz), shiney fishing lure laying on the sea bed today. Too big for my rod though. Unrelated, the tip ring broke on my father-in-law's new rod:(. Hard to get ahead in the underwater bounty game. Need to find a gallion full of gold dubloons/pieces of 8.:D

. . . . Hard to get ahead in the underwater bounty game. Need to find a gallion full of gold dubloons/pieces of 8.:D

Ha ha Thats the most true statement ever! This last week was especially bad for my diving crew. We lost a small speargun and a carbon fiber travel polespear and our bucket of fish dumped. So if anyone sees a 2 foot calico sea bass or 4 other misc perch please return them. ;)

Finds so far weren't many. Most noticeable was a Nokia cell phone (now with the new spirit level feature in the display :) ). Had been in there for a couple of days I guess. The Memory card was still working, but sadly no juicy pictures or videos on it. It's now in my camera bag as a backup Flashcard. :D

haha Sanso I found the same type of thing. I ran into 3 cell phones just underneath an amusement park ride on a pier. One had a good memory card in it. Not sure what was on it, I gave it to jwells.

The ride straps two victums in a chair then pulls them backwards until they are 90 degrees to the water which they overlook. Perfect spot for people to empty there pockets of loose things :p. I also found a set of Range Rover keys with a few other keys on it.

Other then that I recently found a old golf club. Perfect for all the golf balls I found as well haha.

i found old abandoned barnacle encrusted lobster pot with a large lobster and big edible crab inside.i cut the side and set them free.

A petrified forest!
Well actually only the tree stumps, our island is getting smaller every year & the stumps are about one thousand years dead. They can be found in a few feet of water & become exposed every now & then usually after bad weather.

what did you do with the gun erik!!!!
i found lots of things gold bracelet, gold necklace, a few anchors,
a gin bottle dating 1652 that was hand made out of clay.it had ingraved on it nolet sediem 1652 .i traced the bottle to a gin factory in sweeden or finland i cant remember. the company still exists today iits the company that makes kettle 1 vodka its gone through about 6 generations. unfortunatly i showed it to a freind and he musr have jinxed it cause i droped the bottle and it broke.oh well i still have a bip of it not that its worth anything.

In the Bahamas last year I found a 'Blankenheim & Nolet' gin bottle. Baby white octopus inside that eventually vacated. This bottle is more recent version of above - probably 200 years old. Saw some in 'Pirates of the Caribbean II'.

I haven´t found anything really weird, cool or even something expensive.

So far;

Ionian sea in front of Perdika in Greece:
- a toy-duck made of solid rubber. Was heavy as hell. Belongs now to a greek kid
- a surfboard scraper with integrated bottle-opener
- something really nice, shiny........ 7up-Can *g*

Red Sea while the freediving course
- a lot of plastic bags and bottles. After two days I was known as the guy who comes back from the sea session with the garbage
- while the static-session in the pool the glass-crystals and other things from a broken bracelet

A friend joined a cleaning-session in a river near by my hometown. Found, floating at the surface, "attached" to some tree-roots, a brand new Tag Heuer watch, completely with box and warranty-booklet. He asked Tag Heuer what to do with it. They said that the watch isn´t claimed as stolen or los. He could ask at the local dealers, if someone claimed it lost. If not......
He owns the watch still today.

As a teen over 3 decades ago my brother & I would snorkel below a particularly nasty 4' drop fall on the Guadalupe River near New Braunfels Texas. We'd "rescue" many pairs of glasses, cooler of beer, full tackle boxes, wallets etc. The most interesting find was a 1948 class ring from the USMA (West Point) which we reunited with owner. Brother got a c-note as a thank you (guy was a Bird Col.) which in mid 70's was quite a thank you! Now that I think about it...even today it might fill my Nissan truck up w/ precious petrol. roflChef Al

I actually found a SAWED OFF PISTOL GRIPPED 20 GAUGE SHOTGUN today! Had the number's filed off and all! I left the darn thing right where I found it after a quick looksee! Looked fairly crusty and probably would not operate...Not to mention HIGHLY illegal! :naughty Just north of the Racine Wisconsin Lighthouse in about 20 f.o.w. is where she lays!

Oh, also tossed onto the pier about 10 or so "Little Cleo" lures today for the "hook & line" people to have! Some were like new!

And guess which bank was robbed with that weapon?????? Chef Al:martial

only thing i ever found was a large Japanese buoy that had floated into the kelp beds. imagine the look on the tourists faces when i dragged that thing up the cliffs.

When diving close to the shore line I found a wallet. I took the wallet home and dried out the contents.
I then sent the contents to the owner. He in return sent me a letter thanking me and a lottery ticket for me efforts.
Unfortunately I never won the Lottery.

I was recently diving a shallow spot where a fishing boat ran aground. We were just out spearing, not thinking about the boat that had crashed near there, but as we swam, we came across piles of metal, giant wrenches, pliers, and lots of other junk I didn't take note of. It's always wierd to see stuff in the water that doesn't belong.

I have found some top stuff on scuba, usually freediving i just find a bottom plate and the off i go.

The most unusual item was a gun at a dive site opposite the school i manage. It was pretty funny 'cos i picked it up and tapped my buddy on the shoulder and he put his arms up.. rofl .. on my life thats true. Haha

I found an old safe in there too that had been blown. I stuck my hand in in to get out the loot but obviously there was nothing in it. :head I then tried to remove my hand and it was a bit stuck (could do with a sphincter twitching smiley here). I got it out though so don't worry :)

I found a bath in a canal for a friend of mine and a tractor for a farmer in a pond.

A shed load of weights. Loads of knives, i've found so many now that when someone says the have lost theirs i get their holder off them and have sold a few.
