Okinawa Team WC 2010

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
Can I say it? The official information out of this WC sucked.
At the last one in Egypt the organizers were criticized for not being fast enough with the results, but at least their web page was updated at the end of each day. Here, we have to read blogs and facebook pages to know what's going on.
Sorry, I am disappointed.

Soo...We're all back to doing continuous kick at 30s/50m then? Damn, I was just getting a hang of kick & glide (well, not really as I haven't been in the pool much, luckily).

Massive swim, congratulations Fréderic.

And a "finnish style humble understatement"-kind of regards to our beloved team for bronze. Especially the old guy...and the young guy, and what the heck, the third guy too.

I bet that when Fred slows down, we'll rather see ++300m dives, so I would not go back to continuous kick yet. Fred is a former swimmer champion, and started with freediving only rather recently. I saw him first time 2 years ago when he broke the French NR with a 200m swim with no neckweight, no wetsuit, and no monofin technique. Still last year he struggled doing +4' statics (he is now at 7'). So give the guy some more time, and I am sure we'll see much longer distances coming.

The official comp web page is still stuck at the day of statics.
Do we have only the blog to go with? Then some inconsistencies:
Brew 8'27 and 211m shows only the points of static.
Jeschke strange points too.

Guy Brew was a DQ in Dynamic, as was Barbara Jeschke. I think the results show the actual performance (DQ or not) but the real results in points.

Cheers,
Ben

yes I could guess that, and it's one reason why it would be good some official results.

While it all was probably a fun event for the people who were there, I find it amazing that it seems so hard to get some basic things covered, like providing fast and correct results in workable formats. AIDA should demand this.

Any decision yet about where the next TWC will be? At least candidacies should have been presented already.
