Orca Breathe arrival and Trubridge Videos - update

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
I'm still using the Alpha RS1 Orca made me for the 2008 world champs! 'bout time for a new one I think. If by some miracle I find one that seals around the neck, I'll use it for CWT too.

So Chris, if you find me looking you up and down with a critical eye, that'll be why.

I thought you just couldn't help yourself. Can't blame you, really.

Well thank you NOA for your review. Indeed the suit looks like a baby's size and my wide was laughing when she first saw it out of box.. From your statement it looks that its gonna stretch a little and take the shape of my body hopefully otherwise I might needed the MT size which is for taller guys but allows 2kg more as Chrismar's one although he is 6.5kg heavier than me.

Anyway, today I'll try it again and hope its gonna be "breath" as it says and not "try to breath"!! :)

Joking, the suit is goooood!

Here is a photo I took last night with the family, dady on the right side, mamy on the left, and the little baby in the middle! rofl

Chrismar, how do you get yourself into a MT with 80 kg ? you must have some pretty good contortionist skills...
Gia sou Dimitri, i like your family picture, yup the Breath is certainly the baby. what i did that i found worked well was, once i put the suit on and got in the water, i did some sort of stretching movement underwater. it seemed to adjust the suit on the body even better and kind of stretched it out a little around the torso.
good luck with your diving and keep us posted.
btw, how do you guys deal with pool use and chlorine effect on these suits. i just can't bring myself to put it in chlorine water from fear it will get damaged.

Hi Noa!

Nice tip this with the stretching in water, will try it tonight.

Chlorine effect....hmmm... I just wash them good with fresh water every time after sessions, hang them dry all night and they are ok. I think salt water and Greek sun is more harmfull on material than chlorine water and shadow.

try this: with the suit on, submerge, open one cuff at a time and punch upwards, the trapped water will flow down your entire body accommodating the suit.

I have all the flexibility of a concrete block. Take your time putting it on and make sure the material is all rolled carefully up as far as possible. Putting the suit on should take at least ten minutes.

Third time in the water with the "Breath" and I can say that the suit gives superior glide to me because of compression. But still the problem of recovery breaths remain even with stretching movements underwater the suit comes in the right position but still is very tight on the chest.

It may become better after say ten sessions but for the time being, after third session is still very tight to try a max attempt.

And yes, at least ten minutes needed to get in there, if hot and little wet skin then you may need more!

Do any of you guys manage to zip yourself up (or better say down) without any help ? It's my goal to be able to do that but it will take some good practice.

I have tried to do that last Sat with no success... Result was only to sweat and loose my hydration!

I'm finally able to do it now, but it took quite a bit of practice. The first time I did it by myself, it took almost 15 minutes. It's really hard to explain, but the trick for me was to flip my left hand over to a position that doesn't seem natural, but is the only way for me to be able to control that side of the zipper. Hold both sides of the zipper at the very end (top) so that you know where each of the ends is in relation to the other. When you finally connect the two ends, for me, if I drop my arms to grab the strap, the two ends come apart. I have to hold the right side in place, and with my left hand/finger try to push the zipper down just a bit so that a couple of the zipper teeth engage. Then keep holding the right side and carefully bring your left arm down and reach behind your back for the strap.

I'm sure that didn't make much sense to anybody unless they've actually tried to put this suit on. I apologize if this isn't clear.

Hi Nyspear,
thanks a lot for your explanation. i'm gonna try it next time i use the suit.

1. Test of my new Orca Free :)

Fitment is super, length of arms and legs 100% perfect. Compression is good but not too much (looks like a 18 year athlete again and still i'm able to breathe ;)

The suit is REALLY hot.. Good crossover for both static and DYN but i was not impressed with the neck seal, had some water coming in, but still it is far better then my old suit and the water heated up instantly (Almost no change of water after that)

Glide iss......................................................................................... FANTASTIC!!
It litterally takes away half of my strokes in DNF!!!!!

My new neckweight with 3,4 kg was just spot on so that was great too!

Looking forward to try it with my monofin :) :) :)

Elliott, thanks for the review - i am waitng for mine and i am looking forwad to it!

did u increase your neckweight for the Free? I use 5k in neck and 1kg in belt for a 1mm full suit, so maybe i need to increase my neckweight with the Free? (2mm in body)

Hi guys!

Could anybody of you (maybe "Orca Wetsuits") point me to a shop here in Europe where they sell the Orca breathe online?? Got message from an Orca-dealer here in Vienna that they won't get the suit from the ditsributor ?? :head:head

thanks a lot,

ivo

Back to update my review on my "Breath". I can confirm now suit is awesome. It was the forth session in s/pool last night and suit has finally took the shape of my body with not much restriction and tightness on the chest area so I can now take my recovery breaths much easier. Compression and glide are perfect!

Completely satisfied. Hope the suit will last for many many sessions before it wears..

Good job Orca.

At first, I was looking for other cheap suits in the triathlon world because the Breathe seems a little expensive.
But after a few weeks of online researching and reading the opinions, I finally go for the Breathe.
I've not find any suit better or even cheaper in this range... Hope it'll arrive soon!
